Casa Dorada’s amazing domain may have you wish you’d never have to leave. However if you do decide to venture out, there are plenty of incredible places offering history, culture and excitement waiting for you to explore them. Head north to La Paz, Baja’s capital city, take a walk down its famous malecón and visit its amazing beaches. Just over an hour’s drive away, you’ll find Cabo Pulmo, rightfully called the “Jewel of the East Cape.” There you’ll discover pristine natural environment and plenty of opportunities for fun water activities such as kayaking, diving and snorkeling.

If you’d prefer to stay closer to the Resort, visit nearby San Jose del Cabo and Todos Santos.

Cabo’s sister city, colonial San Jose del Cabo, is twenty miles northeast and seven miles from the International Airport. Definitely worth a daytrip, the town’s focal point is its historic center around the main square and church. Known for its galleries and boutiques, San Jose offers an entirely different vacation experience. Unlike Cabo, hilly side streets, gracious old homes, and restored adobe haciendas give San Jose the feel of Old Mexico.

Just about an hour’s drive north of Cabo San Lucas, along the picturesque Highway 19 lies a gem of a town: Todos Santos. Hidden within the classic Spanish-style architecture and adobe brick buildings are countless art galleries and trinket stores just around the corner from the legendary Hotel California. Called by many the Baja Art Colony, Todos Santos is a tranquil town full of mystique and magic, where time takes on an ethereal quality.

Designated as a Magical Town (Pueblo Magico) by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico in 2006, Todos Santos joined the list of 30 Mexican towns whose outstanding history, art, architecture, gastronomy, and ancient charm make them…simply magical. As a Magical Town, Todos Santos continuously improves its overall image while maintaining and emphasizing its rich customs and traditions. In addition, the town offers visitors an array of special events and festivals throughout the year promoting local cuisine, art, film, and more, making a day trip from Los Cabos especially worthwhile.

In Los Cabos, there’s no such thing as “nothing to do.” Located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, this Land’s End destination has everything you may need for a fun-filled vacation. Whether you’re an adventure seeker, a nature lover or a die-hard angler, activities abound in Los Cabos, where the desert meets the sea. And if that sounds like too much work, laze around by one of our pools and do nothing but relax. After all, you’re on vacation!
