Spectacular Hotel in a Spectacular setting

Coming from Ireland this hotel in this location was paradise. The hotel and accommodation was flawless with a spectacular view of the bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The poolside service is to be experienced to be believed.

Just got back on the weekend and spent 7 days at Casa Dorada over Spring Break. Loved the hotel as it was clean and great service. Can't beat the view at this place and it's a very short walk to the marina and nearby restaurants.

Casa Dorada Is Equal To The Best Of Cabo!

The Casa Dorada was an incredible experience from the moment we arrived at the front entry way when we were greeted with free alcoholic beverages (Drinks!!). The room was excellent, the pool was beyond excellent, the staff, security, food, drinks, and location right on the beach !

Here you are in the absolute heart of the Cabo San Lucas action, Medano Beach, Cabo San Lucas. Easily a 4-star venue offering amazing beach views and beachfront access. Stayed with familty third week of March 2014. Nice fitness center, awesome pool and beach. Happy Hour 2X / day, 11AM - 12N and 4-5PM, 7 days a week. All the great places to go in Cabo are easily within walking distance including the Marina, Luxury Mall, great restaurants, shopping. Hotel staff helpful and courteous.

“Cabo is certainly one Mexico's best!”

Reviewed 1 week ago

We've been to Mexico 8-10 times, this was our first time visiting Cabo, previously we've vacationed in Cancun, Maya Riviera, and Cozumel. We LOVE Mexico. We stayed at the Casa Dorada in Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos and I think we'd say Cabo is our favourite part of Mexico so far. Great hotel; beautiful, new, clean, ocean front, great room size and facilities for families. Poolside service was friendly and prompt as were all staff.

Casa Dorada is well located for going on excursions like whale watching or for walking to restaurants, bars and clubs. The gym is first class, the rooms are large and well furnished, and the views of the cruise boats in the harbor are excellent from most of the rooms on the upper floors.

“Cabo was the highlight of our trip”

I did a trip for 4weeks through the main areas of USA with my hubby and Cabo was the highlight of our trip.
The hotel was amazing, room was so spacious with an amazing view
We were located towards the mango deck end up on the 3rd floor, was initially concerned about the reviews I had read about the mango deck being a party all night long but we didn't have any issues like this on our stay.

I brought my wife down to the Casa Dorada in 2007 for a long Valentine's weekend and have been going back every year since. We go one to two times each year and always look forward to our next visit. I have brought many family and friends down with me and they always look forward to coming back.

“It's all about location!”

Casa Dorada is hands-down our favorite resort in Cabo (we've tried 6 or 7 of the nice ones so far). The location is perfect. It's smack-dab in the middle of Medano Beach where all the fun is happening, and it's within easy walking distance (10-15 min) of the marina, the Luxury Avenue mall, and downtown, so there is no need to rent a car or spend oodles on taxis.

“Look No Further - The Best Hotel in Cabo!!!”

Reviewed 1 week ago

This is my 4th or 5th stay at this hotel over the past few years, and my only regret is not writing a review sooner. All areas of the property are beautiful. One Bedroom suites are Incredible, the Views & balconies are wonderful. The location can't be beat, you can walk to town or the Marina in 5-10 minutes, safely. My husband says the Spa is great for steams, sauna's and jacuzzi after a day of sun, by the pool or private beach.
The Entire staff is very friendly & helpful, but i'd like to add (as she was always at front desk when I needed something) Mafer was very, very special in making my needs seem important, and did everything she could do to accommodate.
They've added a breakfast buffet at 12 Tribes restaurant, that is Huge & Fresh, Delicious, and very reasonable, you can get anything you want, with the friendliest service & smiles with beautiful views. A great way to start your day!!
Really, don't even bother with other Hotels, this is one of the finest I've ever stayed in worldwide.

Casa Dorado is a perfect location and the view from this resort is amazing, our room was huge we had a penthouse with our own hot tub and deck chairs - sunrise was amazing from here as well. it's great that it's only a short stroll to town and many restaurants to explore. A fun time can be had at Cabo Wabo. It can be very busy in town when there are cruise ships in town ( almost every day if not every day...) time your trips accordingly. Make sure you take a trip over to lovers beach - we went twice on a boat called the "Spider Pig" the cruise were friendly and left us there for a few hours and they even remembered to pick us up. The welcome drinks were great!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Dorada for the second time in consecutive years. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. Starting with the great service people at the pool led by Ivan and including Emilio, Bismarck and Marvin! Fernando in the restaurant and Ruben at the front door are great as well. Orizal handled a confusion of rooms at the beginning which greatly improved our stay! We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

This is my second time staying at the resort and I have been completely satisfied both times. This time I took my fiance and she told me several times about the breathtaking views. We both enjoyed the facilities and restaurants at the resorts. Everything is clean and fresh and the prices at the restaurants was competitive with the better restaurants in town. The staff is wonderful, helpful and timely. In particular Laura Lachica was very helpful while booking the time and getting us there. We also had the opportunity to speak with Oziel Garibay (a sr mgr ) who is pleasant, charming and helpful.
Great experience will definitely return.

This hotel and the accommodations are wonderful. The entire staff is very friendly and the experience is excellent. We especially like THE PING PONG TEAM! (Ivan, Bismarck, Marvin & Emilio). Already in place and still serving is the 12 Tribes restaurant (nightly specials slid under our hotel room door).

Very nice resort for families, couples or groups of travelers. You really control the amount of fun you want to have. A typical afternoon has 3/4's of the pool chairs filled with sun tanners and readers while other play ping pong, swim or drink at the swim up bar.

Meaning that you don't need a car, wake up ,work out in a wonderful spa,eat breakfast at on site at Mayden, lay in sun, swim in pools, soak in hot-tubs then have lunch, then take a boat ride, lie on the beach, then take a shower , then go downstairs for cocktails a dinner at 12 tribes. You never have to leave.
Everything is so clean and rooms are heaven!
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, so much room ....with living room, 2 kitchens and 3 balconies ..... In LA or NY this would be the suite that only celebrities could afford.
Great collection of people.

“Perfect choice for our first visit to Cabo”

Reviewed 2 days ago NEW via mobile

One of our best family vacations! The hotel is immaculate and very well maintained. Our room was spacious with a large balcony. Slept us and our 2 grown children. Will probably reserve a 2br next time. Read the complaints about the Mango Deck and am glad that didn't scare us off. It was absolutely a non issue for us. The pool area is beautiful with ample chairs and umbrellas. Attentive food and drink service. Can't say enough about the staff. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ate at every restaurant on the property and enjoyed each one. Nice to have choices on site if you just want to enjoy a lazy day at the pool and beach. The location is fantastic! Great beach with easy access to water sports and steps away from The Office. We will absolutely be back. Couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first time in Cabo!

“Perfect Location - Great Vacation”

Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

We just returned from Casa Dorada, stayed there Jan 5-11...we LOVED it!

The trip started off great when Sandra helped get us to a better Room/Floor.

The room itself was spectacular...1bedroom Suite, huge, with great views. I have to say, I do not understand the complaints about noise. We were basically right above the Mango Deck, and never heard a thing. That place shuts down basically after dark, and even during the day, if the doors are closed you cannot hear any music. Even when on the patio, it's just background noise, and hardly a hinderance. Again, I do not understand where all that is coming from...unless it's Spring Break, I wouldn't waste 2 seconds worrying about that.

Pool service was great, couldn't get over how cheap the drinks were....seemed like it was 2x1 drinks 90% of the time...typically, when you drink ON your resort you expect to pay outrageous prices, but not here, so that was great.

We loved everything about Casa Dorada, but the LOCATION is truly what makes it. The Office was our hangout for the week...what a great place that is, and just steps outside the gate. We also hit the Marina a few times per day, which as a few blocks away, with nice views toward the ocean along the way.

We've travled to Playa, Puerto Rico, Vieques, St. Thomas, and the Bahamas all within the past 2.5 years, and Cabo San Lucas is our new favorite beach location...we cannot wait to return to Casa Dorada!

Room Tip: Try and get something 3rd Floor above, or else you'll be even with the pool.

“Super Service”

Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Just came back from a great stay. We had seen lots of comments regarding issues with noise from the Mango Deck and voiced our concerns at check in. Gus gave us the option of one side of the hotel or the other, showed us rooms in both locations, but recommended we stay on the West SIde because of the view and also told us he would change our rooms if we were unhappy. We actually had 2 junior suites and they were perfect. For the little amount of time we actually spent in the room, mostly bed time, the noise was not an issue. Everyone at the resort was extremely helpful and accommodating. The beach personnel and wait staff were all helpful.

A little bit of expected pressure from the time share personnel but after we made it clear we weren't interested, they left us alone.

A close walk to town, especially after you learn the shortcut through the Marina. Highly recommend eating at Sharkey's, just steps from the resort if you stay here. Also the Concierge was great if you needed dinner reservations.

If you are a diver, hook up with Andromeda, just down the beach and ask for Rene as the divemaster. Dove two days, the three of us plus Rene were the only ones on the boat and the dives and equipment were perfect. Strange feeling to have a giant sea lion in your face!

All in all, can't say enough good about the resort.

Not much else to say, except the staff was very nice and helpful. My wife was looking all over for a 2013 Christmas ornament from Cabo and could not find one. The hotel artist took one from the giant tree in the lobby and told her she will have one the next morning, right before we were leaving. Sure enough, he had drawn the Arcos and ocean on a big round ornament and signed and dated it. It is beautiful, and the artist/staff delivered it free of charge.

If you want the best views of Lands End, be close to downtown Cabo, and have some of the most accommodating staff at your beck and call then Casa Dorada is the place to be. The accomodations and the grounds are first rate. The staff pander to your every need, sometimes even before you know you have a need!! The Mango Deck can be loud but what do you expect - you are in Cabo San Lucas. They do shut things down around 10pm every night so even if the music is not your thing it ends at a reasonable hour. Heard an older couple at the pool talking to one of the staff and they started with, "I don't want to seem like a complainer but......" You can find something to complain about with any place but hands down Casa Dorada makes up for any shortcomings with the ambiance and atmosphere you experience from the minute you walk into the lobby. So, don't be a complainer and enjoy what is one of the better experiences you will have in Cabo. I guess you can tell I had a great time here!!!

We have been going there since Casa Dorada opened, and have loved every visit. The resort is beautiful, the amenities are great, the view is spectacular with the very best in Sunrises! The location is perfect, and we can visit the town and it's attractions on foot, and the beach is the best in the area. The real reason this feels like home though is the staff. Very well training, and very caring, they go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. Aldo and staff welcome you home when you arrive, Sondra at the front desk went above and beyond to set things up correctly for us. Reyna Gomez at the Concierge Desk made multiple dinner reservations for our party and went out of her way to take care of some important business needs for us while we were there. We spent most of our days around the pool, and always got excellent service from Ivan Barrios and his staff, including Pepe, Angela, Gustavo, & Armando with the food and drink service, and Emilio always was helping out with towels and a smile!
We will be back again next year and look forward to seeing our Cabo family again.

Room Tip: The higher rooms near the center of the hotel have a better view of the sunrise.

This was my 7th visit to Casa Dorada since it was built a few years ago. Twice a year we visit the property and are never disappointed. The staff & resort are exceptional!

Fidel will greet you at the door with a huge smile and is always super helpful, well-trained & friendly. Ivan is always on-site and attending to all guests needs. No request is too big or small for him and he listens to what you are saying. He has such a positive disposition that he lights up when you talk to him.

Bismark & Emilio by the pool are incredibly polite, attentive and courteous. Every morning they greet you with a huge smile & "HOLA." Gustavo & Angela, serving us drinks and food by the pool each day were delightful and always went above and beyond their job responsibilities. Gerardo in the Salt Water Spa is DREAMY! He listens to his client's needs and customizes his massages and facials accordingly. Everyone from the groundskeepers to the housekeepers go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. We want to bring them home with us when we leave.

The location is the best in Cabo San Lucas. Beautiful ocean views from every room and wonderful restaurants on site, 12 Tribes, and within walking distance. I would highly recommend Casa Dorada

We stayed here the week of November 8th in a one bedroom suite. This was our first time to Mexico. We usually go to Maui for vacation. I have to say that Cabo might be my favorite place to go now. The resort was beautiful and peaceful. The pool was never over crowded and the drinks at the swim up bar were super cheap and delicious. We ate at the tribes restaurant several times and it was tasty too. The staff was very helpful and polite. We didn't have any problems with Wifi like some people did. We also stayed on the end that was next to the Mango bar. I don't remember it ever being loud in the room. When the doors were shut it was completely sound proof. My only complaint is that the lighting is bad in the bathrooms. I had to take the makeup mirror out on the deck to see my face which was no big deal. It was just a little hard to get ready when it was dark outside. We really loved this place and we will be back.

Walking distance from Marina, town, shopping and restaurants. Would definitely return again.

“Great Stay at Casa Dorada!”

Reviewed 1 week ago

This was our 3rd time to Cabo, first time at Casa Dorada. We chose mostly for the location, having stayed close to town on our other visits. Before we have stayed at Pueblo Bonito Rose, Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar and Grand Mayan in San Jose del Cabo. Overall, this was the best of the bunch. Maybe not quite as fancy as Grand Mayan, but certainly close - and far more welcoming and comfortable.

We encountered none of the problems some of the other reviews stated. Sure, the music was loud at night on some evenings, but we expected that. From our unit it wasn't bad if you shut the sliding door. Your experience would be related to your expectations.

Pool was great - plenty of chairs, good service. Ate at the fancy restaurant one night, food was good enough. Our room was very comfortable, higher end than many resorts and very well maintained.

But the best part of the resort is obviously location. You're on Medano Beach and a really short walk into town. It's about as good as it gets. Found Sharky's for awesome breakfasts right outside the resort. Great laundry down the street if you need it. And so many great options in town that are a short walk away.

Going back soon and can't wait!

We just spend 2 weeks in November 2013 at Casa Dorada. The hotel is beautiful with the best location on Medano Beach. Stunning views from every room of Land's End where you can see Lover's Beach. The staff is amazing, making sure your vacation is the best from the front desk staff (Christian, Gus, Jeanine etc.) cleaning staff to the concierge (Laura, Reyna, etc.) and the pool staff (Ivan, Gustavo, Alfredo, Armando,Pepe, Emilio, Bismark, Angela, Marvin, etc.) They get to know you real quick and they are all so amazing. The beds in the rooms are very comfortable. The 12 Tribes restaurant is great. Carlos and his staff are very talented and create excellent dishes. You must try the lobster bisque. They also have a sushi bar and thin crust wood oven pizza..fantastic!! The open air restaurant overlooking the ocean is very romantic, but also family friendly. Just beautiful. Casa Dorada and Cabo are very safe. This hotel is also walking distance to town where there is a fairly large mall. You can also take a cab to Wallmart or Costco for about $8 -$10 each way. We will be back soon!!!

“Great stay”

I was there in November 2013. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything but quiet inside the hotel. The rooms very comfortable and large. The pool is excellent. I did not have any problem with overcrowding or too many children. The service was great and courteous. The food is a little expensive, but I expected that. I also enjoyed the spa, which was a very nice retreat after a long day in the sand and sun. I'll be back.

“Excellent location”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 days ago NEW

I was there October 4, 2013 and stayed for a week. I was assigned to a nice one bedroom on the second level. I was originally assigned to room 2015, but they moved me to the quiet side away from the kids area which I was much better for me. The room was very nicely furnished and practical for me. My balcony looked out over the pool and got the afternoon sun, which I liked.
I was impressed by the hotel staff remembering my name from the first day to the last. I bellmen were all friendly and helpful, especially Rubin who was assigned to help me with my luggage.
The Saltwater Spa was wonderful. They have all the facilities at no extra charge, steam room, sauna, hot tub, cool tub, showers, lockers, fresh fruit, shaving cream and razors. I was greeted each day by the front desk staff, especially nice was Irais. The Saltwater Spa also has a very nice workout facility. There are two separate pools, one with a swim up and sit poolside bar.

“Lovely stay”

Went there in January 2013 and fell in love with Cabo. This hotel is in a great location.

Pro's-
Lovers Beach is easy to get to
great views!
pool is gorgeous
Had breakfast at the hotel once and it was OK, but never missed the chance to order a Mexican Coffee!! Order one now.
Close proximity to a bunch of good restaurants
fave restaurants nearby was The Office, Edith's (DELICIOUS and huge portions) and Missiones de Kino.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a larger room, but it was on the 1st floor with no view. It actually was fine with us cuz it was easy to access to pool and beach.

Went to the spa. Very pricey but good massage. They also do chair massages by the pool.

Happy hour by the pool is awesome.

“This hotel has caused me to be a hotel snob! Very little measures up now.”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 6 days ago NEW via mobile

First of all the worst part about leaving was having to say goodbye to the amazing staff! Not only is their service fantastic but their smiles are genuine. Special mention to Silvia, Laura and martin on the beach....oh and Angela, Alfredo, Gustavo, Pepe, as well as two Ivan's (bartender and pool concierge) all at the pool. And the towel boys even remember our room number when we come down to pick up our towels!
So anyway at one point our 4 year old fell on her face by the pool and had blood pouring out of both nostrils and within 2 minutes there was a paramedic by our side ensuring that there was no serious damage and stopping the bleeding. They even brought her a huge cup of ice cream.
The rooms are always SO clean. The new sushi bar is fantastic. Also the guys at both beach and front entrances seem thrilled to welcome us any time throughout the day as we came and went.
The grounds are amazing and if you look at night you will see a crew working tirelessly to scrub the outdoor kitchens and pool deck. So impressive!
I also liked that I could casually have a few pictures taken of the kids. No need for a huge expensive photo session but a photographer who took some great shots of the kids.
Location could not be better. I like that I can choose a casual dinner on the beach or dine on the marina or find a gem of a restaurant somewhere in town.
This is my favourite place to go to and I measure all other accommodations in Canada and Mexico to this resort.

“Great Hotel and Location”

4 of 5 starsReviewed 1 week ago

The hotel is great all around. The service, staff and food are all very good. The location is also very nice because of the private access to the beach. Pool of course is very nice, but hang out at the beach. There are a lot of beach vendors so just nicely say, "no thanks," and they move along. The vendors do block the beautiful views of the water, so you might want to be further away from the cordoned edge.

“Loved our stay”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 27, 2013

Our experience was wonderful - we found the everyone to be so polite and helpful in Cabo. The only thing we had to check ourselves on was not to be impatient...we live in the Seattle area, we are a fast moving want it now kind of people, and things move a little slower in Mexico, hopefully I brought back some of that patience.
We aren't night people so didn't go out much. Loved the beach bars during the day, especially Billigans.
I can't wait to go back. Loved the beauty of the area and the people.

“Missing it already!”

Just returned from eight days at Casa Dorada and had an amazing time. The staff are wonderful, Ilse, Ivan, Jair, Armando, Aleida, Emilio. The staff are attentive and friendly. The ocean was spectacuar and warm. The room was large and comfortable with twice daily maid service. We purchased a food plan and were quite happy with daily breakfast and lunch variety. Although we enjoyed 12 Tribes for dinner, more variety would have been nice. Overall, our stay was amazing and we look forward to returning soon!

This is definitely a 5 star resort. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are large and all have an ocean view. The beach is well kept up and is easily accessible. The restaurants have an excellent menu and are reasonably priced for this type of resort.
The resort sits outside of Cabo and is quiet. There are plenty of amenities for all to enjoy

“Perfect Paradise”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 23, 2013 NEW

This is a bucket list trip for sure. Land's End is the stuff that dreams are made of and Casa Dorada is the perfect place to turn that dream into reality. The view from Medano Beach is simply breath taking. The proximity to downtown makes it ideal in place where cab fare can run fifty dollars from other hotels. The service is second to none. We were treated like royalty, our every whim catered too. They even brought local artists up to our suite to personally give our children a painting and sculpting class. I understand they have now turned this into a regular occurrence when guests bring children. There is truly something for everyone to do here. I am literally counting the days until we return in April and have already paid for our January 2015 trip.

“Cabo en Octubre”

Just got back from another wonderful trip to San Lucas. Weather was great even though it rained a couple of days......locals always say you'll never experience that condition again, but I've been coming here 11 years now and I have seen plenty of wet weather, including two hurricanes. Casa Dorada is continuing to make adjustments and improvements even though it is only five years new. Dinner cruise, down town, el Paraiso and beach bars are still appealing. I'll be going back in December for my third trip this year........can't wait to get back there! I am definitely a Caboholic and own one of the shirts from Sharkys, my favorite restaurant in town!

“An excellent spot on Medano Beach”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 21, 2013 NEW

I have stayed at ME Cabo before - and loved it. But they were having a music festival and were not available. So I had to find something new. Casa Dorada was a great choice, and I think might be my new hotel of choice.
First of all, the booking process and transfer arrangements were easy. The company that they contract with, TransVIP was on time and very friendly. Got to the hotel quickly, where I was able to check in with the help of a very tasty welcome drink.
Everyone who works there were very solicitous. And I was able to shut down the Time-share salesperson quite easily, and only had to do it once.
The room (401) was on the corner of the building - great view & quiet. The layout was comfortable, and the furniture and fixtures were good quality. The bed was comfortable, the showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water.
The location is very convenient, and I was able to walk to everywhere. The service overall was excellent, from check in to check out.
I would definitely recommend Casa Dorada to anyone looking for a nice hotel in Cabo!

Friendly folks and a beautiful resort. This was our first trip to Cabo and I was more than pleased with our chosen hotel, note that our trip was in the Low Season (mid September).

Location: You walk right past the large, gorgeous, pool (swim up bar), along the covered hammocks, and out of the back door to hit the swimmable Medano Beach. It is about a 10 minute walk down to the Marina for shopping and food. We made the circuit down to the marina and back along the beach one morning before it was too hot and it was great.

Just down to beautiful beach and not so wave, great view with all luxury hotels, boats, makes you feel very rich. Spa at Casa Dorada you must try. Access of private spa and sauna area, shower and gym is free and very relaxing. We also enjoyed swimming pool. The temperature was just right feels great. There were table tennis area with friendly staff. They organised tournament with hotel guests and we played tournament. It was a lot of fun. Location of this hotel is excellent. I strongly recommend everyone to stay because you can walk to Marina, restaurants, shopping centres, casino, and we even found laundry to bring our dirties. You don't have to use Taxi at all. One day we went to San Jose del Cabos by taxi. It cost us approx. US$50 one way. It was worth it to look old town and had a very nice Mexican lunch. We took water taxi to look arch. To see arch you don't have to book expensive cruise. Water taxi from marina is very easy and just nice as personal cruise. We had a really great time to stay in this hotel and definitely we would like to come back and stay!!!!

It seems that this hotel isn't far from anything , great restaurants like Hacienda, Edith, the office, the marina, or the beach. All the activities of Los cabos are right near by, the views from the rooms are fantastic. We are a large family and there seemed to be something for everyone. The staff at pool lead by Ivan was tremendously accommodating and polite, front desk with Cristian the same, the breakfast buffet staff was superfluous in service and manners. The views from our two bedroom suite with a kitchenette fantastic. The activities desk was push, push, push, to buy a travel club membership, if you like that great, but if you don't then it's a headache. You can waive them off and they'll leave you alone, but what appealed to me was the offers of free this or that activity if we'd just sit for a meeting. Anyways we had a fantastic vacation irregardless and would highly recommend .

I enjoy reading all of these fabulous reviews of Casa Dorada. We stay there every October.
On our first stay there, years ago, we met a large group from Tacoma WA. They were all friends and were vacationing together. We all became friends and keep in touch thoughout the year, and all come down to Casa Dorada every year together ever since. We, too, bought in to the vacation club, and really have no complaints. Yes, they will periodically ask you about possibly upgrading your membership... that's their job. That is how they get paid. Not a problem. Listen to their pitch. See if it is something you can swing... if it is... jump on it. If it is not... don't. That's the game. Not everyone can, and not everyone who can... will. They understand. The hotel is 5 Stars. The staff is professional and courteous. Ivan , who manages the outside grounds I believe, is one of the best you will find, as is Umberto at the front desk (who I understand is no longer there, due to a fabulous opportunity elsewhere. I am happy for him!) The only bad thing for me is the fact that I can only get down there once a year! I would go more often if I was able. Do yourself a favor. Book a week there. Bring family/friends. You will return again and again. I am ready to go again in October, and have a nice big room booked. See ya there! SALUD! - Tim

Reviewed July 16, 2013 NEW

Casa Dorada is in my opinion the BEST location in the Medano Beach area. I love Medano because it's a great beach and very lively and fun. Walking distance from shops, restaurants, and nightlife with nicer accommodations than any of the other hotels on the strip (although more expensive). It's not top-tier luxury by any means, but it's not too far behind. Rooms are large and well appointed. The hotel itself is quiet, but it's just a short walk over to the Mango Deck or downtown Cabo for nightlife action.

“Best on the Beach!”

Reviewed July 16, 2013 NEW

My new husband and I along with family and friends stayed at Casa Dorada in May 2013 during the week of our wedding. We did not get married at CD (however, it was one of our choices), but at another resort nearby. Anyway, we absolutely loved this resort. I've stayed at many of the resorts along Medano Beach and Casa Dorada is by far the BEST! Many of our friends and family members said that they will definitely stay at this same resort next time they visit.

Location - Perfect! Right on Medano beach, next to ME. All the water sports on the beach are easily accessible. A quick 1 min walk to Baja Cantina, The Office and Mango Deck.

Hospitality - AMAZING! Room Service decorated our room and drew a romantic bath for us the night of our wedding. Such a nice touch. Check in was easy. Staff was very nice.

Rooms - The best! All the suites/rooms face the ocean.

Food/Drinks - We didn't eat at our resort much other than at the pool. The chicken nachos and rolled tacos are delicious. All the servers at the pool were very nice and service was quick. Our servers were great to let us know when the drink specials were coming up. All drinks were great, strong!

Overall - Without a doubt this is my go-to resort from now on! We split our week between CD and Bahia just to change things up. We were so disappointed to have to leave CD.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. The ground floor suites open to a private patio and the pool.

“Cabo July 4th Trip”

5 of 5 starsReviewed July 15, 2013 NEW

After hearing wonderful things about this resort, we decided to make a reservation. We arrived on June 30th and had a great checkin experience (upgraded to a 1 bedroom, booked a jr. suite).

The room was wonderful and big enough for our family of 4. Our room was near some construction, but it was only done during the middle afternoon (preparing for hurricane season).

Enjoyed the pool and beach every day! Customer service was great and the food was fantastic. Really enjoyed our lunches and different daily specials on drinks and food. Wake up early to get a chair, got busy early. Busy during day, quiet at night!

Any little/minor issue that we encountered was treated by their wonderful and thoughtful staff. Their pool concierge was great (cleaned my sunglasses every day) and their front desk was extremely accommodating. Oziel, the manager, was very delightful to speak to and listened and respected our thoughts.

We can't wait to get back to Cabo and enjoy this resort. The location, food, price was all perfect.

Love the beautiful location on the main beach, and the staff is tremendous. Awesome modern, spotless and luxurious facility. We have been back 5 times and will keep going back! The breakfast buffet is delicious and Pedro is such a lovely host each morning. Pool is fabulous and the whole place is family friendly but fine too for singles. Muy bueno!

“Best view and resort in Cabo.”

My family and I stood at casa dorada for a week and I have to say, the resort exceeded our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Christian at the front desk was extremely helpful and went out of his way to call us to check on my son when he came down with a fever. He also called the house doctor who responded to our room to check on my son. The doctor diagnosed my son with a throat infection and the pharmacy deliver the medication to our room. This not only put me at ease but my wife as well. We thought we were going to have to fly home early, however the staff's quick response allowed us to stay and help my son get better. Lizzeth Huizar, the director of maintenance, helped us get a spot at the pool when it looked like there were no spots available. She also knew my son had come down with a fever and called to make sure he was ok. Besides the fact the resort is beautiful, the staff made our vacation a memorable one. We can't wait to go back and have another great vacation.

“The best of times”

My daughter and I visit Los Cabos, this summer vacations. We really had the time of our lives. She is 12, and I know she is going to fly by her own very soon. The view was wonderfull, the service, the food and the rooms. We had a jacuzzy in our room, and a big balcony from where we saw the sun rises from the blue sea to our room. The beach is very cleen, and the sand is so smood, that we could walk without thongs. All the guys from the hotel Casa Dorada where so nice, that we remember most of their names. Thanks to Fernando, Tomas, Eli, Rafael, Chistian, the other Fernando, Mari, Aquiles, Lupita, Luis, Alejandro, Liz, Miguel, and more. Thanx for make us live the best of times. I visit los Cabos several days through out the year and I love this place. The view is spectacular and the staff are just very helpful and awesome. “Great resort, perfect location, beautiful”

4 of 5 starsReviewed July 3, 2013 NEW

I found it very hard looking at all the reviews on where to stay in Cabo before we left. We wanted somewhere relaxing but not too far away from restaurants, shopping etc.

I was choosing between here and Me' Melia and I am so glad we chose Casa Dorada!

Perfect location. Walking distance to town or a $7 taxi ride.
Great restaurants to choose from. I definitely recommend Edith's (right next door to hotel)
The beach is right there, the pool is really nice. Although the towel policy is quite annoying they are very strict with only having one towel per guest. i I found the pool lounges a bit dirty and old but they were comfortable.
Great food served at the pool also and the 2 for 1 cocktails are a great deal!

This hotel has everything you need for a Cabo San Lucas get away. The views are stunning, yet you are on the main beach and only a short walk away from the Marina and all of the action. The staff was always courteous and willing to help at a moments notice. The pool waiters were outstanding and always knew when to come back around, while not pestering you for another order or tip like many other places in town.

“Great location on the beach, walking distance to mall and restaurants”

5 of 5 starsReviewed July 2, 2013 NEW

This a great property to spend your vacation on right on Medano Beach, large room, great outside viewing decks with chairs, table, etc., private sandy beaches, or sit down in your sun chair, right next to the pools. Work out facility on the property, great food by the pool or in the 12 Tribes Restaurant, a little pricy, be careful ordering wine by the glass average price 10 to 22 dollars (small pour) stay with local drinks if possible. Great happy hour, two for one drinks - average 6 to 7 dollars, beer two for around 4 to 5 dollars. If you prefer, walk down town (7 to 10 min) better prices, great selection of restaurant and interesting place to view the boats, and people, etc. Couple great places for ice cream, coffee, or just an after dinner drink, also a great board walk to just walk along. If your going to stay here check for timeshare rentals on eBay, red-week, vacational rentals by owner, etc. Prices vary by time of year etc. but if you have patients you can get some really cheap pricing - lots of people trying to rent and cover there costs. Enjoy

Room Tip: Located on the Medano beach, walking distant to downtown shops and restaurants.

“Location, Location, Location!”

Reviewed June 29, 2013

We just got back from our trip from Los Cabos. This hotel has stunning views, rooms are immaculate, beautiful and very spacious. Food is great at the pool and 12 tribes and breakfast area. Hotel is located on a swimmable beach, yea not all beaches are swimmable.
We had a family room which has a king bed in one of the rooms and 2 queen in the other room being separated by a spacious and fully furnished kitchen, living area and a dinning table. Its walking distance to the Marina and the town. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the town. Mango deck, the bar next door, was actually entertaining. If you closed the windows/door, you would not hear the noise from the bar. Do eat at 'the Office' and 'Baja Cantina' which are literally next door, like 50 feet from the hotel. Also do take a water/taxi to the El Arco (lovers and divorce) beach....We do recommend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: if you are traveling with children do get the 2 bedroom.

“Our family's best vacay!”

5 of 5 starsReviewed June 26, 2013 NEW

Some people will state this is not a family friendly hotel or that Cabo is not a place for a family vacation but I will disagree! we have 3 boys 8,10 and 17 and we all had an amazing time! Upon check-in, we were greeted with frozen drinks and cold water bottles as we entered the lobby. Every staff member warmly greeted us and remembered our names as we roamed throughout the hotel.
It's hard to book rooms for a family of 5 but they upgraded us to a 1 bedroom suite "so we would be more comfortable as a family". Awesome! I was at first apprehensive since I read not to be located near the Mango Deck. That was our view and I have to say, we enjoyed the music from the balcony at night and didn't hear a thing once we close the patio door.
The pool was great and the kids loved being able to go in the pool and the ocean. The swimmable beach was perfect for them.
The poolside servers were always present especially during the morning and afternoon happy hour 2 for 1 drinks. There is a menu item each day that is also 2 for 1. Such a good deal!
We all loved Casa Dorada and can't wait to return!

“Best place to stay in Cabo!”

Reviewed June 23, 2013 NEW

This is the best place to stay in Cabo. We have been many times and every time we go, we have a great time. The reasons this place is so awesome: the rooms are very spacious, they all have a great views of the water, the service is top notch, the pool area is very large and relaxing, the spa is tranquil and upscale, the water is calm in front of hotel, and the location is the best location is all of Cabo.

When you stay in Cabo, many times the resorts are far out of town which require a 20-30 minute cab ride into town. When you stay at Casa Dorada everything is walking distance. You will want to eat at Ediths and The Office, both of which are located directly on the perimeter outside of the hotel. The downtown area is walkable but sometimes we do take a 3 minute cab ride because of the shoes I am wearing. Also, at most resorts, people are not able to swim in the ocean because the undercurrents are so strong. The beach in front of this hotel is swimmable and there are a ton of water sports available from jet skiing, parasailing, etc.

I would highly recommend this as your destination place in Cabo.

We are in our mid 20s and did not feel at all judged by having cocktails in the early afternoon but then again appreciated that we weren't bombarded with bass pumping DJs all day either. This is the 5th time that i have been to the Casa Dorada, and it never disappoints. From the bellmen, front desk, to the beach staff and the spa everyone is superb. They always remember your name and are eager to please. The restaurant 12 Tribes was and is awesome. The view looking out onto the water to the live music and excellent food, you couldn't ask for anything more from a hotel vacation. This is a boutique hotel but not in a small 10 room boutique way, and its not one of those huge places either. If you say you are going to meet someone at the pool or the beach, you know exactly where you are going and do not have the search the property. The hotel is walking distance to town and is a nice walk after a great dinner. I will be going back for New Years as i have done before because i hear they are going to have the Dancing with Stars show back again this year. Can't Wait!!!

We had one of the smaller units on the sixth floor which was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and always cheery. The grounds were very nice and got a lot of sun. The pools were excellent. Room service food was delicious and fast.
My only issue was all the noise from the three major clubs right on the beach in front of the hotel. Obviously not the hotel's fault but it could get annoying at times. Thankfully the sliding glass doors were good sound barriers.

Room Tip: The closer to the first floor, the less noise you get from the beach clubs.

“Great Location”

5 of 5 starsReviewed May 29, 2013 NEW

I stayed at Casa Dorada in May 2013 for 11 nights with my husband and another couple and loved it. It is in the best location right on Medano beach where you can book all water sports and tours which is alot cheaper than booking through the hotel, you can barter with the guys so don't pay full price for any tours. It's the only swimming beach in Cabo which is safe and clean and have great restaurants all within walking distance. Only a 10 minute walk to the marina where alot of the restaurants are a bit pricey. We found a great restaurant Maca's which is fab we had lobster tail and steak and lobster and prawns for $16.95 US each and it was delicious. We felt that we could not have picked a better hotel, the views are amazing, the staff friendly and the rooms were huge all with views. Loved it, would love to go back. Also the fish taco's by the pool where amazing, buy one get one free on Sundays.

“3rd Time in Cabo 2nd time at CD”

5 of 5 starsReviewed May 28, 2013 NEW

We arrived at CD on May 17th at around 2.30pm, our room was not ready however a room on the 3rd floor was available so we took it since we were exhausted from our trip. We had room 329 a one bedroom unit with a kitchen which was nice since we have a 2 year old who is constantly hungry. The view was OK, but we did not spend much time in the room so I'm not going to complain. The night we got there, there was a wedding and the music was blaring until 1am and the second night there was a wedding too so I was a little disappointing that we could not sleep well those two nights.
The pool service was very good as for the food and drinks, we mainly ate lunch by the pool and did breakfast and dinner out. This was our second time at CD and it was as good as the first time we stayed there. There are so many restaurants close by so we tried something new every night. The office was our fav but be sure to make reservations as most nights it was a long wait. Sharky's which is across the street from CD was excellent for breakfast, we did not try it for dinner but heard it was really good. One of our favs is The Sand Bar which has really good breakfast and dinner. We ate at Ole Ole at the marina one night and I was not too impressed esp for the price. The last night we at CD restaurant Three Tribes it was really good and the view from the restaurant was amazing. The only complain I have is internet access at the resort, you have to pay $15 a day which is crazy.
Over all we had a good time this trip was all about relaxing :)

“First time to Cabo but not the last”

Reviewed May 24, 2013 NEW

My wife and I picked Cabo for our 20th wedding anniversary and we were never sorry for this choice. After searching we chose Casa Dorada mainly for the location and the fact that every room has a view of the Sea of Cortez. We have never stayed in anyplace even remotely as nice as Casa Dorada and I have to say we were overjoyed by the amenities that are available there starting with Omar & Hector at the front entry. I have to thank Gustavo since we had a 1st floor room on the first night and the view was not of the sea but the pool. After moving to the 5th floor the view was just short of heavenly. Ivan (the pool concierge) and his staff, (Emilio, Bismarck), are some of he nicest people around. There main concern was our happiness and it showed, even down to games of ping pong from time to time. We couldn't understand why anybody would use the pool when the beautiful Medano beach was just steps away! From beach cabanas to padded lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas that was the place to be. The beach staff was possibly the brightest spot of all from Gilbert, Laura to our favorite Sylvia. Sylvia and my wife would talk about their homes, kids, etc. while all the time she was bringing 2 for 1 ice buckets of cold Coronas or margaritas right to our chair. Thank you Sylvia for making our stay so much more memorable! The only issue with the beach might be the constant hawkers but if you don't sit in the front row you should be ok. Also the Mango Deck bar is rather loud and the go from @ 2:00 P.M. until after midnight. The hotel is really within walking distance of almost all of the town so there's no problem there, or the cab is only $6 U.S. and they are always waiting. If you want a cheap, very tasty and close restaurant try Sharkys which is less than a block away. It became our breakfast spot and a couple of dinners as well. Also were serenaded by Mariachis! How cool is that? All in all I have to say the Casa Dorada was everything and much more than we were expecting and we would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Try to stay away from he first floor if you are looking for an ocean view.

“GREAT LOCATION & BEAUTIFUL BEACH!”

4 of 5 starsReviewed May 21, 2013 NEW

This was our first time at Cabo and at Casa Dorada and I’m glad we stayed at Casa Dorada. But before I go into details, I must first warn you that the moment you come out of the airport you will get attacked for time shares. They’ll offer you free or discount ride and a discount on almost all activities and dinners, if you don’t want to be bothered then say no thank you and walk away. If you don’t mind saving some money, but wasting 3 hrs of your time (even though they only say 90 minutes), then go for it…. BUT DO NOT FALL FOR TIME SHARES.

In regards to Casa Dorada, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we received delicious welcome drinks. Our Room was a junior suite, with view to the pool and on the first level, so easy access to the pool.

Open beach front property with chairs and cabanas. The beach (medano beach) is perfect for swimming, the only waves came from Jet ski’s and boats. If you decide to walk on the beach be ready to be asking
Walking distance to town, marina and lots of restaurants

Restaurant: the hotel does have restaurants, but we only had breakfast once, as we wanted to explore cabo. Breakfast at the hotel can go from $9 – $16 (ala carte) or $16 (buffet). If you decide to eat at the hotel your paying anywhere from $20-$35 an entrée, if you go down the street or to the marina your paying from $15-$30 an entrée and if you’re up for the walk you can eat at restaurants on Jose Maria Morelos or Lazaro Cardenas and pay anywhere from $5 - $25 Definitely try Romeo and Juliet, great service and good.

Make sure to bring single dollar bills or some pesos. It would be helpful.

We'll definitely be back again! Thanks.

The hotel rooms are very nice and all face the ocean with balconies. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are lumpy and not very good. The room had a tiny fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, sink, blender, toaster, etc. the bath tub is enormous with jets! There are two large pools, a swim up bar and hot tub. There is roped in beach front property with chairs and cabanas. Don't sit in the front row unless you want to be constantly harassed by vendors! The ME hotel, Cabo SUP and Mango Deck are right next door. You are within walking distance of all down town nightlife and the marina.

“It does not get any better any where!”

5 of 5 starsReviewed May 14, 2013

I have reviewed Casa Dorada on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas before, but I had to let everyone know, that I still think it is the best resort my husband and I have ever stayed at. This is our 4th or 5th time staying here and it just keeps getting better. If you read other reviews, you already know that the location is first rate, close to everything, etc. so I won't elaborate on that. I have to say that I was so impressed this time with the staff, whom are all so accomodating and friendly, not only with the guests but with each other. There has always been a few in our past visits that we really got to know and enjoy, but this time it was different. It is so nice to see people enjoying what they do. Everyone is all smiles and they do not pass you by without greeting you with an "Hola". Upon arrival from the airport we were welcomed with a hearty "Welcome Home"!

The best area for relaxation is by the pool, and Ivan Barrios, the pool concierge, makes it his personal mission to see to it that each and every guest is not wanting for anything. His staff, in particular, Emilio, Bismarck, and Marvin are the most upbeat, friendly people. Always professional but will joke and cut up when it's appropriate. They will even help you with your Spanish if you ask them too. When they aren't too busy they will play in one of the poolside ping pong matches, but you may have to wait a few seconds during the game if someone needs towels or umbrellas. Service always comes first! It is a blast to watch them with their guests, every one has a good time! The staff at the Okanius outdoor bar/restaurant are amazing and the food is great for poolside fare. Gustavo and Pepe are our personal favorites and run all day to serve the guests, but always have a moment to chat and smile. The rooms are kept immaculate and the property is beautiful and is always being tended to. The Twelve Tribes restaurant on site has become a source of pride for this resort. They have a new chef, who can prepare high quality delious meals, from lamb and lobster, to chicken fingers and fries.

For those of you who just can't leave it all behind, internet is available but is not free, so be prepared to pay upwards of $50+ for the week.

I have to say, from check in to check out, the only complaint I had was, that it ended to soon! We will be back!

“Amazing hotel for a beach vacation”

5 of 5 starsReviewed May 13, 2013

We picked the hotel in relation to location and getting around town easily and we hit it right. Great restaurants in front of the hotel and a super easy and short walk to the marina for more options. The pool was great with lots of specials for food and drink. We did not have any issues getting a pool chair at all. We requested a room away from the west side so not to have a lot of late night noise. Great hotel and location.

I've been going to Cabo San Lucas for over 20 years now. This is the first time I've stayed at Casa Dorado, it's fairly new. Loved it! Beautiful suites, great pool and the service is the best I've had in Cabo. The pool scene in very quite and relaxing, great for couples. And it's 100 yards from the La Officina & Edith's, great places to eat.

We have been coming to Casa Dorada since it first opened. We have always been astounded by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. This year we were fortunate to learn that the resort was going to be revamping and reenergizing the facilities. Met a kind gentleman named Mr. Leonardo Perli who informed us that in addition to a new poolside pizza oven and pool furniture in blue coming soon, the "stars at night" will be back in the pool soon, and it will be more eco-freindly with roof mounted solar panels. We were treated to a wonderful dinner at 12 Tribes provided by new chef Carlos Bonilla, and it can be safe to assume this view it will become a hotspot in Cabo for dinner soon. Had very tasty appetizers, perfectly cooked prime cut steaks, and scrumptious deserts that we had the privilege of sampling earlier in the week room service style for breakfast compliments of the resort. Once again Casa Dorada hits a grand slam home run, and this is why we never trade our weeks away!

This resort is as nice as any in which I have ever stayed. The accomodations are excellent, the staff is considerate and attentive, the restaurants are excellent and the beach is very nice. All of the rooms have a nice view of the beach and the water. It is within walking distance of the center of Cabo and the harbor.

Overall the staff was extremely accommodating. One hiccup at the front desk with an employee that clearly doesn't understand hospitality, but everyone else was fantastic, though sales driven. Ivan & Emilio at the pool were outstanding. They went above and beyond to accommodate every need.

My family and I just returned from a fabulous week in Cabo San Lucas. We stayed at Casa Dorada, which was a great choice based on its excellent location, facilities and service. We loved the location on Medano beach close to several excellent restaurants and a 5-10 minute walk to the Marina. As people have already stated, we were gracefully and immediately greeted with some delightful margaritas upon our arrival. the staff was great and were able to offer an upgrade to a one bedroom from a Jr. suite when we requested it. The suite was REALLY spacious and offered several different spaces for us to spend a comfortable week, including two terraces. LR, DR, full kitchen, bath and separate dressing and jacuzzi space. I felt the staff was very attentive and went out of their way to provide excellent service. The view from our hotel room was great, and we had several outstanding Cabo restaurants within a five minute walk (The Office, Edith's, Bar La Esquina, Hacienda). At this time of year, we had our choice of seats around the two pools and in the beach area. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely consider returning there! The only negative was that they were fixing the fitness center, so we only had a chanc eto use it for a coule of days.

Room Tip: Stay away from the Mango Deck side of the hotel. Request an upgrade, if they have available.

Stayed 7 days at the Casa Dorada in a group of 8. We had side-by-side two bedroom suites which worked out very nicely. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Whether poolside, at the spa or coming through the front door, a friendly face was there to greet you and offer help, if needed.

The rooms were extremely clean - in fact even the balcony was mopped daily.

The location was fantastic with immediate beach access and just a short stroll to the marina. Shopping and dining options were available both at the beach and the marina. From the resort, we booked a catamaran exursion on the Eco Cat which was definitley a highlight of the trip.

The pool bar had daily two-for-one specials on food and drinks all of which were very good.

I would recommend this resort to anyone coming to Cabo for a nice relaxing vacation.

Cabo San Lucas is known to have exceptional customer service from the locals AND hotel/resorts - on top of its amazing food and town. Casa Dorada is one of the newer hotel/resorts and has the PERFECT location. Beachfront, near the Office and town but tucked away on a side street. Too many wonderful attributes to list. However, the SERVICE is EXCEPTIONAL here. Especially pool side and 12 Tribes restaurant (overlooks ocean and has no walls)...and is delicious. We booked a day package from our cruise line. This included full use of the pool, beach area , a buffet lunch and a room (for all on the tour) to change, freshen up etc. We totally enjoyed the day swimming, relaxing and taking in the views. Our buffet was actually very good and fresh!!! although this is a time share , no one ever talked about it, I guess paying for the day excludes that part. I would definitely come back and stay here, it is one of the nicer resorts in Cabo.

“Great location, great service, great property!”

My fiancé and I were debating between two or three hotels, all central and within the same price point. After a bit of research (and scouring TripAdvisor), we opted for Casa Dorada and we couldn't have been happier with our decision! The property is beautiful; the views are stunning and the rooms are well appointed. The service is great; the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and the concierge service was very helpful. And the location... well, I'm not sure how you can beat it! This was my first time in Cabo (my fiancé's third or fourth) and we were walking distance to everything. If we decided to cab, we weren't more than a $6 cab ride from any restaurant that we wanted to visit.

The pool area is great -- wonderful pool, great lounge area and especially nice towels (minor, but I even commented on them)! They have happy hour from 11-12 and from 4-5PM where drinks are 2 for 1. The lounge area by their restaurant, 12 Tribes, is great for a pre-dinner cocktail, too! I didn't experience much of their spa, but the spa menu looked great for any ladies looking to get pampered on their getaway. Nice workout facility, though I didn't use it as much as I had hoped (the pool was too enticing).

All in all, a fab experience. If we go back to Cabo (which we probably will!), we would stay here again without a question!

This was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas and we agree with most reviews that the vacation club staff are persistant in trying to get you to go to one of their presentations. After two days of "no thank you" and finally firmly stating we were not interested, they were better. Other than that the hotel is fantastic in every way. The location is perfect. Very close to town and the marina, the food was good and there were many great restaurants close by, the entire hotel staff was friendly and accomodating in every way, the rooms are clean and spacious. We asked for an upgrade, and we were given a bigger room with a pool/beach view. We were often asked how things were going and if we needed anything. We will most likely go back again.

Casa Dorada was a lovely place to stay for a girls weekend. The room was big and comfortable, and the staff was generally helpful. The property is pretty quiet and has a broad mix of people staying there but trended towards older couples and families. The hotel is directly in front of the Mango Deck and The Office, and also there are tons of water activities directly outside the hotel. It was about a 10 minute walk to the marina.

There is absolutely too much to write about this place, here is what we loved about Casa Dorada:

1. The location is GREAT! Turn left when you leave the lobby and keep walking left. Eventually you will get to a "Y" intersection ... keep going left. Once you are half-way down the hill, turn right and you will be right beside the mall/shopping and restaurants of the marina. Superb location - maybe a 10 minute saunter?
2. The view is stunning!
3. The beach is really great and fine to swim in - tough to find in this part of Mexico.
4. The pool - loved the multi levels, loved the temperature (much more comfortable than the cold ocean). We didn't get to the pool bar, but I think we would have loved it.
5. Attentive poolside staff, but not overbearing. They knew when to bug you and when to not.
6. Great lounge area on the beach - and the vendors are NOT PUSHY! I loved it! They would ask (ask they should as they are in sales), but all you have to say is "No gracias" and they leave. It was a splendid change from other areas of Mexico.
7. The drinks were really yummy, as was the one meal we had there.
8. While the wifi there is awfully overpriced, walk to the coffee bar in the hotel across the street, or even to the Marina, or walk all the way down to the Cabo Bakery ... all give free wifi, as do many other places all within walking distance of Casa Dorada.
9. Speaking of the Cabo Bakery - this is a great location for that (I will write another review) and a must visit while staying in Cabo.
10. The firepits! I absolutely hate smelling like campfire, but these are natural gas (I think) so no smell!!! They are surrounded by a relaxing seating area with a stunning view of the ocean. Spend a couple evenings here with a glass of wine (or your fave beverage) - there's nothing like it.
11. There are many places to relax in this resort ... hammocks ... loungers .... large private balconies .... loved it all. Spend an evening reading a book while lazing in the hammock with one of the best views you'll ever have.
12. The room staff were great - clean up, turn down ... loved being spoiled and having a clean room all the time. They even washed our dishes! We were going to do them later ... but they did them for us! What a treat.
13. This is more of a tip - but get up around 6:30AM or so one morning and make sure to take time to watch all of the fishing boats heading out. It's really a beautiful site.

Well ... I'm not sure how quick that was ... but those are my favourite things of Casa Dorada. I'd go back ... in a heart beat ... just be prepared for the pushy timeshare people. We even tried to plan our escapes from the resort without having to go through the front doors! haha

Room Tip: Do try to ask for a room on Floor 3 or higher, and on the east side of the resort (away from the Man...

We have been to Cabo San Lucas with our children/grandchildren and since this trip was just for us, we searched and read all the reviews regarding different hotels. We chose Casa Dorada based on the pictures, location but mostly because of the reviews. And we were not disappointed!!!!! It is so convenient on location, and this hotel is so well maintained and clean. The reviews do not do it justice on the staff! You can tell that everyone truly enjoys their job there and the staff go above and beyond to make things wonderful for you. The Sea Bass prepared by Carlos at 12 Tribes was the best I have ever had. We loved all the happy hours and the 2 for 1 meals by the pool everyday. Sunny, and Angela always served us happily, Marivn was there to even turn our chairs to face the sun and beach every morning with a smile, Evan always stopped by to visit and see if there was anything he could do to make our visit better. I cannot say enough great things regarding our stay, we are already talking about our next stay at Casa Dorado. Wish we had Omar to great us at the door when we returned home. He always made us laugh!!!! And Mr., Perli, your graciousness will never be forgotten! Thanks to the entire staff for such an incredible vacation!

We have stayed at Casa Dorada several times and it is a beautiful place to stay. It is within walking distance to the harbor and is central on Medano beach. Our last stay a friend of ours was severely injured at Wild Canyon zip lines and she was hospitalized. Casa Dorada provided us with a car and driver to take us to and from the hospital. We were touched when all the staff would ask how our friend was doing and also asked if there was anything they could do for us. The entire staff was wonderful and made the rest of our stay great. Thanks especially to Tomas at the front.

Having been to Cabo San Lucas 3 years earlier and exploring different resorts, we chose to stay at Casa Dorada based on its location and good reviews. We invited another couple to join us and they couldn't say enough good things as to location, amenities, service staff, and the excellent rooms we stayed in as well.

The service staff went over and above to ensure we had everything we could ever want for, the rooms were updated and very clean, there were several restaurants on site as well as many many wonderful restaurants within a very short walking distance, we were just a few minutes walking distance to the Marina area with all its shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities as well, and the beautiful Medano beach was just steps outside our door.

We will definitely be back as this one of our best vacations ever!

Had a great 4-night stay here in April 2013 with my girlfriend. If you want to be in Cabo (as opposed to the corridor), this is a great place to stay, with great amenities, friendly service and most importantly a killer location. You are in the middle of everything (which might be a downside, depending on your preferences and attitude towards the spring break crowd at Mango Deck), on a swimmable beach and within a short walk to some great restaurants as well as downtown.

Just returned from my first visit to Cabo, and could not have picked a better place to stay than Casa Dorada! The location was absolutely spectacular--just a quick walk to downtown and literally right next door to several outstanding restaurants/beach bars. The service was top notch, the beach beautiful with calm, swimmable water (apparently this is not the case in all of Cabo), and the rooms were phenomenal. We had booked two junior suites--both of which were upgraded without even requesting it to a 1-bedroom near the middle of the property, giving a full and direct view of the water. The rooms were huge, two amazing balconies looking at pure paradise, and top notch furnishings and electronics. It was like waking up and going to sleep to a postcard every morning.

Yes, we tipped. Not because it was a prequisite for getting good service--but because the service was wonderful and everyone deserved it. It was clearly appreciated and the great service was uninterrupted from housekeeping to bartenders to the front desk to waitstaff at the pool and beach area. Food was fantastic everywhere on and off the resort, and drinks were absolutely perfect. Prices for food and drink were better than expected--"2 for 1" drinks from beach service all day, every day. How can you go wrong?

If I find myself back in Cabo again, which I certainly hope I do, I see no reason to stay anywhere other than Casa Dorada!

We visited in March for my brother's bachelor party, and it was one of the best times of my life. We had a group of 13, and I wanted to make sure we stayed at an excellent resort...Casa Dorada was everything I imagined plus more. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was amazing (especially Jazmin, who helped me reserve a block of rooms months in advance), and the location was PERFECT. Medano Beach is literally right behind the resort, and all of the bars and clubs are walking distance. We had amazing breakfast buffets every morning at the resort restaurant, complete with an amazing view of the ocean....yea I'm talking BOSS. The concierge was great with helping us set up a Booze Cruise, and the beach vendors can be surprisingly friendly if you ask the right questions.

Last time stayed at the Me, next store and we liked Casa Dorada better. Just got back after a weeks stay and have no complaints! Our room was nice and large 1 bedroom. Housekeeping was great kept the place spotless, Customer service treated us very well as well as no issue with people trying to see us timeshares when we were there. Hotel is in a great great location walking distance to everything you need the marina (10 minutes), Sharkey's is a great place across the street for bfast, lunch dinner, 2 stores right across the street should you happen to need any necessities. All rooms above 3rd floor and up have great ocean views and beautiful sunrises! We did not experience any issue with loungers and we spent the day at the beach every day. If you needed an umbrella chair etc, the beach personnel were more than accomodating and you just asked them and they set you up! More people seem to hang at the pool than the beach and reserve chairs there. We are beach peoples & only went to the pool for drinks at the pool bar after at the end of our beach day. Beach has tons of options to eat, drinks such as Tobascos, Billygans, the Office, and on and on which are less than a 5 min walk. Totally recommend the purchasing of the Cabo Passport card which gave us 2 for 1 eating at Melia, Tobascos, Sharkeys, Whale watching cruise, paddle boarding so it was def worth it. There was 4 of us so we ended up saving alot of $$ with the card. Also had Cabo Cruzer deliver and stock our bar the date we checked in. We are on vacation so had no desire to go to Walmart and he is more than reasonable for his rates. All and all Casa Dorada is in a wonderful convenient location, experienced nothing but great customer service and very clean. I would not hesitate to go back!

“OUR FAVORITE !!”

Reviewed April 14, 2013 NEW

We have 7 weeks of timeshare in the Cabo area and this is our favorite. We have a fixed week in a fixed penthouse in early March. Over the years, several family members have also acquired weeks in this great facility. It is like a family reunion with 16 of us there this past March. The location is great with walking distance to all of the Cabo restaurants and activities. Aldo is very excellent in handling the sales and promotion people. You never have to worry about being pestered if you don't want to participate. Just tell him your preferences.
The pool is great and that is where we spend most of the time. Bismark one of the pool staff, is very efficient in meeting your needs. Pattie the waitress at the B-Bar, and sometimes around the pool, remembers your favorite drinks and is fun to work with.
The food at the pool is good and the twelve tribes restaurant is better this year. It may be overpriced but they often have specials that bring the effective price down.
The proximity to the bars on Medono Beach means that it can be loud but the rooms are well insulated so that you don't hear them at night. The rooms on the 3rd - 8th floors have the best views. Try to get a room near the center section for the best views and the quietest.
We love this place.

Room Tip: up high and center.

“Dream Wedding at Casa Dorada! Absolutely PERFECT!”

5 of 5 starsReviewed April 13, 2013 NEW

We had 25 rooms booked for our friends and family at Casa Dorada for the weekend of April 6th. We got married at Cabo Del Sol and our wedding planner suggested that we and our guests stay at Casa Dorada. It was one of the best decisions we made! The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms amazing and very large, the staff excellent, food great, and event coordinator Jazmin amazing. They were fantastic to deal with in every aspect - prompt to answer emails, gave everyone a great room for a great price, and treated all of our guests with respect. Our guests particularly raved about the amazing location, great drink deals (it seemed to always be happy hour!), huge rooms, great views, and great service. Jazmin, I must say, was a huge highlight. She was so nice to all of us and was fantastic to work with.
We hosted a welcome party for our guests at the 12 Tribes Terrace and it was perfect. The hotel even cooked up all the fish the guys caught on a deep sea fishing trip that day and our group of 60 had dinner. Even on such short notice, the hotel was fantastic. All the food was great!
We will be going back to Casa Dorada year after year. You really can't find a better hotel, in a better location, for such an amazing price. All in all it was PERFECT! I would highly suggest if you are a couple, family, or a large group. Casa Dorada was a great choice!

On a side note, after Casa Dorada we moved to the One and Only. Even compared to such a "high end" resort, Casa Dorada holds it's own. It really is a gem of a place and amazing quality for the cost. I would recommend to everyone! Out of 5+ trips to Cabo and staying at 7 different hotels in the area, Casa Dorada is the best!

Room Tip: We had Penthouse 4 and it was beautiful!

“Bachelor Party in Los Cabos”

5 of 5 starsReviewed April 9, 2013 NEW

I recently just got back Los Cabos. My brother planned my bachelor party and thought Cabo San Lucas would be the perfect spot. I completely agreed. Good nightlife and we can sit on the beach during the day sipping on drinks. This property is absolutely amazing. Right as we got out of our shuttle from the airport (~40 min drive) and arrived at the hotel, we were helped immediately with our luggage. We had 13 people in our group so we had quite a few bags. As you walk into the hotel, it is wide open and you can see the downstairs and pool area and ocean from the balcony (lobby is on the 2nd floor and you can take an elevator/staircase to the main floor to access the pool area). We had booked 4 junior suites (I recommend booking far in advance to get the best rate). Our trip was graciously taken care of by Jazmin (she specializes in group bookings). At check-in, were upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite. The service/hospitality at this hotel is top-notch! We were shown to our rooms and baggage was delivered to our rooms in a timely fashion. We all stayed from a Thursday-Sunday. The hotel does offer an all-inclusive option but we didn't opt for that as we wanted to explore Cabo San Lucas as well and were out on most of the nights.

Food: The hotel has many restaurants. They had a $15 special for a breakfast buffet that we enjoyed every morning of our stay. We also ate at one of the restaurants at the hotel on one night as well. The food was great, but can get pricey if you are going to be eating at the hotel for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Beach: The hotel is located on Medano beach and apart of the beach is sectioned off for hotel guests only. They have beach chairs with umbrellas layed out and you can even lay/sit in a bed they have on the beach as well. The only thing to watch out for is all the sales people selling hats, t-shirts, etc on the public portion of the beach who will constantly harass you, but you just tell them to keep moving along or pay no attention. We did end up buying Cabo San Lucas bandannas for all of us though (very easy to bargain). The beachfront also had the Mango deck bar/restaurant. This was great for our group as most of us are 24-30 year old.

Service: Top-notch. They take care of your every need and are extremely friendly. Jazmin and Annabelle at the front desk definitely took care of us and made sure we were satisfied with our experience at the hotel. I would give this property 6 stars if I could and the main reason why is how they handled my lost phone. On the way to the airport, we used one of the hotel cabs (you get a voucher for the cab and it is pricey $70 one way---we had 4 of us in the cab, so split by 4 it's not to bad) and I misplaced my phone in the hotel cab, I believe it fell out of my pocket. I thought I was never going to see my Iphone 5 again. I didn't realize until we were already through security at the airport. The next day I contacted the property to see if the cab driver had turned the phone in or found it. LUCKILY, the phone was returned to the concierge desk and I was contacted via email about it. I had to identify that it was mine and fill out a claims form for the phone. They did charge me $64 for the shipping but I eventually received my phone back in one piece. The whole process was very smooth and I commend the hotel for having honest people working on staff.

Bottom Line: This is a family-friendly hotel with mature hotel guests. We were happy we didn't run into 18-20 year old spring break kids. We had our fun and no one bothered us. I highly recommend this property!

We just got back from Casa Dorada yesterday and we had a wonderful time there! The hotel is very clean, the rooms are big with kitchenettes and huge balconies. The hotel is perfectly located : 10 min walk from Marina and downtown with tons of restaurants to choose from. If you're looking for a swim able beach - it's one of the very few locations in Cabo that has white sandy beach. The water was a bit too cold this time of the year. The swimming pool in the hotel was a bit dirty but the hotel was totally booked due to kids school break. The staff is very friendly and the service is unbelievably quick for Mexico (we've been to many 5-star resorts in Mexico where you have to wait for hours for anything fixed in your room - not in Casa Dorada: everything was taken care of promptly). The only complain really is that our a/c in the room was very loud and woke us up during the night, but other than that, the hotel is a great place to stay if you go to Cabo!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that are close to Mango Bar - they can get REALLY noisy

This was our first time visiting Cabo and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful place to stay than this hotel. The staff upgraded us to a suite at no cost. We had an issue at check in, which was resolved quickly and kindly.
The spa and gym were both excellent. The food at the 12 Tribes restaurant was overpriced but the 2 for 1 daily specials was a great bargain for both food and drinks.

The food could have been better that was the downside. Never had a problem finding a pool side chair and it was spring break. The spa was great too.

Given the fact that we made the decision to book 3 days prior to travel and it was Easter week-end, I was expecting a lot less. A whole lot less. Now it's not Pamilla, Ventanas or Esperanza but this resort was great. It is right on the beach, the room was huge, the view was great, the restaurant not so great but overall, a gem. I probably walked by this place 30 times during my other stays here and never realized it was here. It is behind The Office so there was a lot of people on the beach over the week-end, but wow this is nice.

“Fantastic Resort”

5 of 5 starsReviewed April 1, 2013

Upon arriving to Casa Dorada I instantly had a positive vibe of the place. Walking in I was greeted with complimentary margaritas and warmly welcomed by all of the staff around me. The resort itself is incredible with a huge outdoor swimming/seating/lounging area that has every amenity you could ask for.

The staff are all genuinely friendly please not my emphasis on the GENUINE part. I have stayed at quite a few resorts now and while all staff are usually polite their is usually a hidden look of disdain for tourists that I am able to pick up on. This can be understandable as we american tourists are notorious for being obnoxious and demanding but none the less its discouraging. Casa Dorada however is not like that! You can tell the staff actually are friendly and make you feel welcome and at home the moment you walk in.

The other huuuuuge plus about this place is their amazing 1 for 1 and happy hour deals that they have every day. Usually when you stay at a resort as nice and expensive as this one you can expect that their food/drink will be just as pricey. Not Casa Dorada. Every day they have an alternating menu item that you can buy 1 get one free for. And im talking about full sized, large, delicious (im a food snob), high quality meals that if split with another person can end up being $6-8 for TWO meals. They also have happy hour drinks, 1 for 1 drinks of pretty much any drink you could ask for.

Our rooms were cleaned perfectly and immaculately every day top to bottom.....The location is PERFECT, a 5 min walk to downtown cabo (squid roe etc.) and a perfect location on the beach right above mango deck and with a perfect view of lovers beach.... i could go on and on but you get the point. the place is awesome. stay here when you go to cabo its well worth your time and money.

“First Time to Cabo”

We have been to many of the beach resorts in Mexico (Cancun, Playa, Cozumel, Tulum, PV and Zihuatanejo) but this was our first time to Cabo. We researched many of the resorts before chosing Casa Dorada. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are large, the service was excellent and the location is walkable to the marina district and/or a short taxi ride by boat or car. A boat taxi from the beach is approximately $3 per person (very convenient) and the cab fare is $8 or so........everything is negotiable.
The hotel staff upgraded us on arrival from a Jr. Suite to a one bedroom suite. Our friends had the Jr. Suite (same floor) and their view was better. The main advantage of the one bedroom suite is the size of the bathroom and the jetted tub. We would have been happy with either room.
Breakfast was included with our room rate and was very good. The food at the pool area was also good. We ate all of our other meals off-site (within one block walking distance) and there are numerous choices and all of the them were good - I especially liked the Baja Brewery which is on the eight floor of an adjacent hotel with a very nice view and live music.
Two businesses and their owners who were very helpful, knowledgeable and I would recommend them if you are going to visit Cabo. Airport Transportation - Arturo at Translobo is the best!! - he met us at the airport and had an immaculate suburban, ice cold drinks and we were at our hotel very quickly - a super nice guy - the same goes for the trip back. We also took advice from another trip advisor review regarding a cafe in the marina called D Right Joint and the owner is Carlos. D Right Joint overlooks the marina, is very casual, we watched the NCAA basketball games there and Carlos (the owner) knows everything about Cabo and his customer service is excellent. A very casual and affordable restaurant.
Cabo is more expensive than the other locations we have visited in Mexico but it is definitely worth a visit. We had a great time.

Room Tip: We had a decent ocean view from the third floor. The 4th floor or higher would be better if view is...

This hotel was beautiful ! Very friendly service. My friends family and I went for Spring break. They have a time share here what I liked about the stay is I was only asked two times if I would like to take a tour and consider doing a time share. I thought it would be a lot more high pressure. When I said I was not interested they left me alone. After all what do I need a time share for when I can come anytime I want... My friends have 6 weeks. The pool side service was amazing great drinks and good guacamole and salsa poolside snacks. Rooms are amazing and there is no bad view! Great location easy walk to town easy walk to marina and the beach is only a few steps away.

“ANOTHER AMAZING STAY AT CASA DORADA”

Reviewed March 18, 2013 NEW

This was our second stay at the Casa Dorada in Los Cabos. Last time was a family trip & this time an anniversary celebration for just my husband & myself. Both vacations were perfect! We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was very roomy, beautifully appointed with the most comfortable bed we have ever experienced in a hotel, and a breathtaking view of the Sea of Cortez from two balconies. The two bedroom suite was a great choice when we brought the family. The service and staff are second to none. The property is gorgeous and impeccably kept. Quite a few excellent restaurants have opened within walking distance of the hotel since our last stay. A very nice surprise, but don't miss the food at the Casa Dorada. Certainly worth it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And a quick cab ride to Wal-mart is always a good idea to stock up on snacks, drinks or anything you may have forgotten to pack! While we are willing to try new activities & restaurants each time we visit, the only hotel we would consider is the Casa Dorada. What a wonderful find!!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Casa Dorada last July. The people were very nice and helpful. Our 2 bedroom unit was perfectly located with a view of the Sea of Cortez and El Arco, with ground floor access. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cabo and would certainly go again. I would recommend staying on the left side (as you look out to the sea) of the property, it's not as close to the beach bar and the loud music. However, I felt like the room was very well insulated, and we weren't bothered by the loud music at all. We were on the left side of the resort. The weather in July is hot, almost too hot. I wouldn't go any later than mid-July and would avoid Aug. and Sept. We went scuba diving and the water was very murky. I think October would have been better for diving. Be prepared to be hit up by timeshare people everywhere, airport, resort, even the grocery store!

My husband surprised me with this getaway trip and it was awesome! We went in Feb-the weather was mild and it was not too crowded. Our room was clean and huge with 2 balconies and great views. The pool service and beach service is good, the staff are friendly and attentive, plus 2 for 1 drinks all day. Just avoid to first row of chairs on the beach and you won't be too bothered by the constant vendors trying to sell overpriced junk. The location is perfect with the hotel's own beach area, plenty of activities and walking distance to the marina, shops and restaurants. Highly recommend Bar Esquina which is in the Bahia Hotel right across the street. Excellent food and service but make reservations for dinner-it gets packed! The Office is right behind the hotel, great margaritas and seafood tacos right on the sand. I highly recommend making reservations at Hacienda Cocina on the Hacienda property-the food was amazing with awesome views. Mango Deck is annoying which is a shame for this great location, but we just shut our doors and weren't too bothered. We were never approached by any timeshare people as others have mentioned.
Even at the airport, we just kept walking and we were never approached at all.
We had such a great time here and hope to return soon!!

“Amazing hotel, location, staff, service and wedding location!!!”

My wife and I just got back from our wedding week in Cabo. We decided on Casa Dorada after visiting during a scouting trip back in August. The hotel, location, and staff were amazing. Specifically Jazmin Cesena who is the coordinator. She worked with our coordinator who lives in Cabo and helped organize what was an incredible, memorable experience. There were some wrinkles, but when do you not. Upon our arrival to Casa Dorada, Jazmin and the rest of the staff catered to our every need. Pretty much every staff member knew we were the couple getting married that week and ensured us and our guests were taken care of for anything we needed. We held poolside activities were guests from other hotels attended, and the staff provided towels and loungers for all of them. Our bar events were excellent. We had food and cocktails at every turn. We participated in their ping pong tournament. We had vball games in their pool. Made use of their spa facilities. Use their beach area. Took over the swim up bar. We had close to 100 family and friends and all of them were treated as vip's. The rooms are huge. Pretty much full size kitchens, so you can stock your fridge. The living area is huge and the patios are fantastic with great views. But the pool and beach are so amazing that you never spend time in the room except to sleep. There are hot tubs in each room. Hotel is pricey, but you pay for what you get. There are value hotels. This is appropriately priced. On to the wedding part of the review. We were easily the largest wedding here. 100 total. The deck at 12 Tribes overlooks the beach and has the bay in the background with land's end. It is absolutely gorgeous. Once you walk down the aisle, it is absolutely breathtaking. Their furniture is top notch. The only down side to the location is mago deck. They are pretty loud. But nothing was taking away from our day. Guests were onlooking from their balconies and pool area because the set up was outstanding. Then on to the beach area for cocktails. No better way to take in the sunset. They set up foot cleaning stations for the guests. The on to dinner and reception under the palapa at 12 tribes. We managed to push the limits on how many they can seat, but it worked out perfectly. The dance party back on the open air deck went off. And then they provided us with an after party at Maydan restaurant underneathe, where we managed to dance until the wee hours. At all points of the night, plenty of staff were on hand to take care of everyone. Once the partying was done, my wife and I arrived to a beautifully decorated room with rose petals, cake, wine, flowers, and decorations. We were blown away. The day after the wedding we hosted a beach party for which the staff set up towels, chairs, lounges, and service for us. We again had guests from everywhere join us and it went off without a hitch. We closed up the beach and went to the spa were we easily broke every code with 42 people. But the staff remained friendly and still catered to us. The only time they came by was to remind us of a closing time. They were so gracious we ensured to leave the area as clean as possible. Overall, an incredible experience for us and our guests. The ones that stayed here were blown away by the service as well. Jazmin was excellent. Making herself available at all times during our stay. The bell boys, bar staff, kitchen staff, everyone from Casa Dorada received a big THANK YOU from us. We will absolutely be back. No doubt about it. Food was great. Drinks were flowing. We were entertained. Pampered. anything at any time. This easily surpassed every expectation we had. We could not have been happier with how this turned out. Again, a huge THANK YOU to Jazmin and everyone at Casa Dorada that made our wedding truly special.

Valet parking has in/out priviledges and you can call from your room to have the car ready for you by the time you come downstairs. The food on the property is excellent. You can walk to other restaurants, take a glass-bottom boat, and enjoy the pools and sauna. I did notice that no one was swimming in the ocean, even though the weather was pretty warm. After going to this hotel 2 times and will soon be going for a third time, I thought I would write a review.
This hotel is amazing. The location is to die for. You're right on the beach, literally, just a few steps away. The ocean is beautiful and Lovers Beach (the beach near the rocks) is stunning to visit. The jet-skies are a blast and the area around the hotel is safe and lively. There are tons of shops and plenty of food choices..which brings me to my first fault. The food here is average. The breakfast buffet is good, basiclly just tons of bread and meat. The lunch is meh. If you're out by the pool and you don't want to go out, it's acceptable. Prices are pretty expensive though. However for dinner I would strongly recommend eating out...you can find MUCH better places to eat if you just look around a bit. But hey, it's always happy hour!

“3rd time's a charm!”

Reviewed March 9, 2013 NEW

This was our 3rd year at Casa Dorada. I think each year we have a better experience, perhaps because we know what to expect. The last 2 years at check in we paid for an upgrade to a one bedroom/ 2 bath suite and were hoping to do the same this year. But this particular room type was not available except for room 201 over the Mango Deck. We declined and were given a free upgrade to an Executive Suite which we found to meet our needs perfectly. We were in room 224 which was not the best view from our balcony to Lands End due to the roof of 12 Tribes but we were able to see the beautiful Cabo sunsets. The room itself was more than adequate with a small kitchenette, living/ dining area and separate bedroom. The bath had 2 sinks and a nice shower. Outside the bath was a separate mirror/ counter space and jacuzzi. We hope we are so fortunate next year to score an Executive Suite. We are beach people, which is part of what we love at Casa Dorada. The service on the beach is exceptional and great people watching. I suggest sitting in the second row of chairs unless you enjoy the continuous interaction with beach vendors. We did not eat on site as there are so many fun places to explore in Cabo. We do wish Casa Dorada had free, reliable internet access. And we hate the time share attack when we first arrive, but this year I made it very clear we did not want to be bothered by them and they left us alone the rest of our stay.

Room Tip:Executive Suites are a great upgrade from the Junior Suite.

This is great place to stay in Cabo. This beautiful hotel is a short walk to the Marina or town and is on the Medano beach - a large and swimable beach. There are plenty of good restaurants within a short walking distance. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. We had the one bedroom suite and there were two balaconies for us to use. From the upper floors, there is a a great view of the ocean, the rocky cliffs and Lover's Beach. The staff were friendly and attentive. The swimming pool is heated.

Two shortcomings of the hotel:
1. The food poolside and at 12 Tribes is not very good. But you have your own kitchen and there are plenty of good alternatives a short walk away.
2. The wi-fi speed was ok, but the coverage was spotty inside the room. We found the best coverage by the pool or out on our balcony. Wi-fi cost $50 per week and can only be used on one device at a time.

We agreed that on our next trip to Cabo, we would stay at the Casa Dorada again.

BTW, we rented our room from vbro.com at a very attractive price.

Room Tip:Higher floors (4+) give better view of the bay.

Weekly poolside Ping Pong tournaments with Bismarck, Marvin, Julio, Emilio & Ilse. the only bad thing I can say about Casa Dorado is that their Wi-Fi connection is less than desirable. it is very intermittent and there is a $50USD weekly rate to use it. I have just returned from four days in Los Cabos @ Casa Dorada and the experience was excellent. Feb 2-5, 2013. Our room was huge, with a kitchenette that was very helpful for casual refreshments and snacks, an independent bedroom and it was perfectly located (Room 219), we were very close to the swimming pool (10 steps from room to the water).

My 10-year old son could spend time in the water while we could sit outside of our room listening some music. The water temperature was warm, very easy to get it, even for my wife who can´t stand cold water.

We had lunch in the hotel only once, the rest of the days we walked around the hotel, there are many good restaurants at walking-distance, plenty of choices available.

There was a wedding one night and we could hear some of the music inside the room, but it didn´t bother us.

The hotel is conviniently located very close to the Marina in Cabo San Lucas, so any activities related to whale-watching, the arch, etc., are very close.

Casa Dorada was awesome! My girlfriend and I spent 3nights and three days here we did not have a single complaint. The staff was hospitable and friendly. Make sure you stop by and say hello to Julio. Julio is the hotel's concierge. But he's just not any ordinary concierge, he is passionate in what he does and it shows. He arranged a romantic dinner for my girlfriend and I on the beach. Something highly recommended for all couples. Private table on the beach, fire pit, dedicated server(ask for aquillis), flowers on the table, the sound of the waves...the whole setup cost $35, seriously. Our room was clean clean clean. We upgraded to a one bedroom suite, with two balconies, after sleeping in our king size bed the first night, we brought the mattress out on the balcony and never slept in the room again, it was great, and no bugs! We had room service every morning and it was good. The pool area was awesome, there are cabanas and also a swim up bar.

If you are looking for accommodations centrally located to the beach, restaurants, and the clubs and bars downtown, Casa Dorada is the spot.

Casa Dorada was a perfect place to call home in Cabo San Lucas. The resort was set right on the beach, with easy access to the downtown area and other restaurants and shops. My husband and I stayed for 1 week in January 2013. We were upgraded to an ocean-front, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite, which was more than enough space for just the 2 of us! We had a full kitchen, 3 balconies, a huge jacuzzi and a fantastic view of the Sea of Cortez and the Arch at Lover's Beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; they are eager to please and enthusiastic without being overbearing (which is more than you can say for the people selling items nearby on the beach). For food at the hotel, we particularly recommend the fish tacos (both grilled and fried) and the grilled salmon wrap, which can be ordered at the beach, the pool or the lobby bar. We had a fantastic time in Cabo and would highly recommend this resort.

“Nov 2012 destination wedding”

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights for a destination wedding in November 2012. We reserved a 1 bedroom suite. The 1 BR suite is enormous with a kitchen/dining area, living room, bedroom, bathroom, jacuzzi area, separate powder room area, and 2 balconies. This was a bit much space for just the 2 of us, but we enjoyed it. Our friends had the studio rooms and those are also nice. About 1/2 the space but certainly spacious enough for a couple. The property is great. We really enjoyed the pools, beach access, gym, and poolside restaurant. The location is good if you want to be around the action. Mango bar and the Office are right next door - 2 of the best beachfront restaurant/bars we saw. Also, you can walk to the marina/town area in about 10 minutes or take a short cab. The beach area is really happening too - you can catch jet skis, stand up paddle boarding, taxis to Lands End rocks/Lover's Beach right in front of the hotel. The beach is also super swim-able - very calm and warm. The pool area is very relaxing and the staff very helpful. Our only problem was that not all rooms have a great full view of the bay. The view from our 1st room was quite obstructed but they moved us to a full view for the last 3 nights no problem. We would love to go back. One money tip - If you're on a budget, factor in that hotel taxes are something like 20% on top of your room rate - not a pleasant surprise at end of stay.

Room Tip:higher floors are good for views but lots of stairs!

Our travel agent found the Casa Dorada for us a little late in the game (we went 2 days after Christmas and stayed thru New Year's) and Cabo was pretty much fully booked. I have only good things to stay about Casa Dorada. It was perfect for my family of six. Above all, the staff, from the front desk to the concierge, to the pool and beach attendants, etc. were the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever encountered. They helped us with activities (ATVs, Wave Runners, Dolphin Swims, etc.) and every night they helped us with restaurant reservations. We did not bother with the "time share" opportunity as we already own a time share and know well what that's all about. But as a resort guest I think anyone looking for a high end place to stay in central Cabo will be very pleased with Casa Dorada. BTW, the rooms were large "time share" style, much like 1 bedroom and studio apartments you'd find in any major city, and also like the typical Westin timeshare, (ie large and well appointed.) Great pool, fabulous private beach, nice SPA, good restaurant for breakfast (we had a package that included daily breakfast buffet. Absolutely NO complaints.

But the luke warm water for a shower is getting hard to deal with, this is not the first time we have had this issue. Also the luke warm jacuzzi in the spa and the cold showers in the spa big turn off for the price we paid for a massage. So hopefully we will have better luck next time.........

My wife and I would walk 3 minutes down the street to the marina every morning. You can walk anywhere from Casa Dorada which we loved. We will return to this resort.

The property is immaculate, it is in a perfect location, the rooms are huge, and the people couldn't be nicer and here's an example of how you are treated at Casa Dorada ...
We dined at 12 Tribes, Casa Dorada's signature restaurant, on her birthday. With the Dining Experience package, we were given the choice of any appetiser, entree, and dessert each ... no restrictions! We also received a bottle of either white or red wine as part of the package, but the staff insisted that we have one bottle of each free of charge ... this came from a service staff that I couldn't count on one hand that took every minute detail ...

But it gets better. Since it was my wife's birthday, the marimba band played the spanish version of The Happy Birthday Song while the hostess and wait staff serenaded her ...

However, there's still more. Sr. Badillo, the manager, then stopped by and presented my wife with a gift certificate good for a 50-minute massage!

We are already planning our next trip to Cabo and will not stay anywhere, but Casa Dorada!

Room Tip:Ask for a room away from Mango Deck and something on the sixth floor will give you the best view.

“Great first stay - we'll definitely be back!”

I've been to Cabo a few times before - usually away from the city, so this time we decided to stay somewhere that was an easy walk so we didn't have to rent a car. After much research, I decided on Casa Dorada.

I booked directly with the resort and got what I felt was a great deal for 5 nights for $1330, On their website you can purchase "enhancements" so I included breakfast ($144) and internet ($28.) We also set up a private transfer from the airport to the hotel via VIP Transportation for $90 (each way.) I've been on those shared transfers before and it's taken over an hour to get to my hotel and I didn't want to deal with that again - especially if we were only there for 5 nights! To us, it was worth the extra money. Total for everything for 5 nights, including taxes, was $1900.

Check in was very quick and we were in our room in under 10 minutes.

Our home for the next 6 days was room 526 - a 1 BR Ocean View suite that faced SW and we had a great view of the Arco. There are 3 (or 4?) buildings - ours was a little trek from check in, but we preferred that over having lots of people roaming around.

Huge room (1380 sq feet!) that definitely felt like home (it was bigger than the first townhome I owned!) Ammenities included:

- a lovely kitchen w/everything you need (including dishes)
- a dining room w/large table that seated 8 - 6 chairs and a bench.
- a nice sized living room that seated 6 - love seat/couch (hideabed), 2 chairs / 2 ottomans and a large Flat panel TV.
- a huge bedroom with a king bed, lots of closet space/drawers, though not many hangers in the closet. (I'm sure they'd bring more if requested.) There was also a great chaise lounger (which looks prettier than it is useful) and off the bedroom as a balcony w/ 2 chairs.

There's a large bathroom w/ 2 sinks, shower and toilet. The jacuzzi/soaking tub actually outside of bathroom in the bedroom - and next to that is a vanity/makeup area - which is nice for me to put all of my makeup and junk and not consume all of the space in the bathroom!

The main balcony off living room has 1 lounge chair and a table w/2 chairs. It's very large and we spent quite a bit of time out there.

Pool area is very nice with lots of chairs. We never had a problem getting two chairs, no matter what time you came down. There are 2 pools, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. The hot tubs got busy around 5:00 with the people coming off the beach - often people who had had several cocktails so they were usually loud/bordering on obnoxious, but by that time most of the people at the pool had cleared out.

This is a family-friendly resort, but it was by no means overrun with screaming children (which is always my fear when not staying at an adults-only property.)

There are several cozy sitting areas that have great views of the beach/ocean, some with fire pits, just off the pool / restaurant.

There are several chairs on the beach - do not have to reserve/pay for, but it's 1st come 1st served.

Must have your towel card to "check out" a towel - they will not give you one without the card!! We were told they will charge you if you don't return towel - which we often didn't do until the next day b/c we took them to our room...but we never had a problem.

Had the buffet breakfast at Maydan's every morning and it's pretty good. They have all the regular fare as well as made to order omelets/eggs. Servers were great and remembered what we drank every morning. We also had lunch there one day....ordered a quesadilla, chips & guacamole, and Mexican Cobb salad and it came to $28 US.

Maid service was good - usually came around 2:00. Turndown service came at different times...as early a 5:30 and then after we had left the room at 7:00. Standard stuff - turn the bedding down, towel animals and chocolates.

“What a view!!!! Fantastic!”

We had the pleasure of escaping the winter weather of California and taking my family to this lovely resort for Thanksgiving week. After looking at all our booking options, we ended up booking through an owner on Redweek.com. We were able to book a two bedroom penthouse. WOW! We certainly felt spoiled by the unit we booked. It was on the top floor of the main building, front and center over the pool. We didn't know until a few days in that the entire glass wall was a nano-door...we came home and the sitter had opened it up....AMAZING! We had an enormous outdoor patio area with hot tub, lounge chairs and a table and chairs. The ocean was right in front of us! Past the edge of the Casa Dorada is the Mango Deck...fun place...but we arrived on a Friday and the music (bass) was pumping well past midnight Friday and Saturday nights. No one warned us of this...thank goodness it was only the first two nights of our 7 night vacation. Property was nice and quiet the rest of the evenings.

Our penthouse was lovely. One of the selling points of the PH was that is had a stacked washer/dryer. We have come to really appreciate having a W/D when we travel. Having two kids under age 11, makes for lots of dirty clothes. I was told ONLY PH units have the W/D. We had a two bedroom unit and friends we were traveling with had a one bedroom PH on the same floor. They had an end unit which is always nice.

We shopped at Soriana, a locals grocery store (12 min cab ride) from the hotel. It was fabulous! Their bakery was amazing! Fresh, hot tortillas to be had right from the cooler in the bakery. Their display of bakery products is worth the ride. They had everything you could find in a US grocery store. The store is laid out the same and things are easy to find. They also have a nice hot food counter where you can buy pollo rotisado (rotisserie chicken), rice, beans and fresh salsa....and other items as well. We like to get the pollo rotisado and keep it in the condo for easy chicken soft tacos or to add to scrambles in the morning. They have a nice liquor department with many choices. I happen to be a fan of Don Julio silver...it was my lucky day....they were having a sale, buy two, get one free! The three bottles ended up costing me less than the cost of one bottle at home in CA.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Most nights we walked to dinner. Edith's is right around the corner! It's also a quick 5 min taxi ride to WalMart. Felt like I was back in CA shopping at Wal Mart...more American than locals. WalMart also has an extensive liquor department with reasonable prices. WalMart has everything the US stores carry plus some local items.

Hotel security was appreciated and visible. Each time we walked out the front door, they asked our room number and the same upon our return. It was nice to know someone was paying attention. : ) Also, as an added bonus, the head bellman had lived in CA in a neighborhood right next to mine! He and I had fun comparing notes. He was always happy to answer my questions about where to go for this or that...always with a smile.

Transportation to the hotel: I had done my fair share of research on this ahead of time. I booked a roundtrip ride with Nice Ride Cabo. They were a pleasure to deal with...always by email which worked perfectly for me. You pay for the roundtrip when they deliver you to your hotel. Seems odd, but they always come for you on your departure day. I highly recommend Nice Ride Cabo.

We also used Cabo Babysitters 3 times on our trip. Again, a pleasure to deal with. The gal that owns the business is from the US. She had only 8 sitters working for her at the time. I was shocked that she only had 8. Through our numerous phone calls, I came to learn that she is VERY particular about who she hires. They all CPR trained and have to meet her standards. We had two gal most of the time as there were three families total with a total of 6 children. We had the same girls each time which the kids loved. I'm blanking on their names...but would certainly request them on our next trip. It's a cash only transaction, very professionally handled...you needn't worry.

Favorite restaurant....Cocina Y Cantina at the Hacienda Hotel.

All in all....a great trip!

My advice if you have children: bring your own Children's Tylenol or Motrin and if you can, bring antibiotic ear drops. 4 of the 6 children on our trip ended up getting swimmers ear prior to the end of our stay.

Hotel also had a kids club....it's more of a drop in type of place. There was only one woman on duty each time we were there. Our kids ranged in age from 7 to 10 so they were fine with it.

Room Tip:Always do you homework ahead of time for a room that is important to you. Call and ask questions if...

The breathtaking view as you enter the hotel set the tone for the entire vacation. We have been to many places in Mexico but this has to be my favorite spots. The rooms are clean, large, and very nice. The hotel itself is in the best location of Cabo -- you go out of the hotel, right onto the sand, and you're in the heart of everything -- all the bars and all of the water activities.

It is definitely pricey for Cabo, but if your budget allows for it, I would highly recommend . . .

Front desk, housekeeping, 12 Tribes, and beach and pool staff also incredibly nice and excellent service. “Great location if looking for an active beach, short walk to marina”

Reviewed November 25, 2012 NEW

We just returned from a 5 night stay during Thanksgiving week. The resort is on Medano beach part of which is behind the Mango Deck beach bar. The location is great if interested in a combination of beach (with a lot of action) and marina/downtown activities. If looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, going further down Medano beach would be a better choice. The water was great and it was a short walk to the marina where there are a lot of restaurants and other activities (5-7 minute casual walk from the street in front of the lobby). We usually prefer to relax on the beach so we started by hanging at the beach when we arrived but quickly decided to switch to the pool for several reasons:

1) The beach setting was very noisy and busy with vendors and nearby beach bars.
2) The beach chairs were not as comfortable as the padded pool chairs.
3) The beach area slopes to the water making the chairs even more uncomfortable.
4) With all the boat activities along Medano beach, the fumes was pretty obvious and became annoying quickly.

The room we were in had a great ocean view and most rooms (especially upper rooms) should also have a great view. The weekend prior to Thanksgiving had 2 weddings (Sat and Sun) at 12 Tribes restaurant. The noise from the weddings was very loud and very obvious even with the balcony doors closed in our room. The music played until 11 or 12 midnight and the partying continued until 3am. I talked to the concierge the next day and she said the party should have moved to the Maydan after 11pm, but a lot of people continued to hang around 12 Tribes and the pool area. The other nights were fine and I was worried about noise from the Mango Deck at night, but that wasn't a big issue. Suprisingly the on property noise was much worse.

Overall, I would rate this resort 3 star+ to 4 star. My personal preferences lean more to a quieter more relaxing atmosphere as opposed to a party atmosphere.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 618 which is a one-bedroom suite which also has a lockout to an adjoining bedroom...

This hotel is centrally located if you are like us and enjoy the beach and a fun, happening atmosphere. The hotel has it's own private beach area that is separated from the rest of the public. The chairs and cabanas are clean and the very well kept. The beach service was also excellent. It's right next to the activity vendors as well (glass bottom taxis to El Arco, jet skis, banana rides etc). Tip - feel free to haggle. I negotiated 2 hours on the jetski for the price of one.

You should be aware that the hotel is right in front of Mango Deck which is probably the loudest, most happening beach club at Cabo. This means that there will be music all day and long into the night so if you aren't into that type of scene, you may want to move further north up the beach.

It's about a 8 min walk to the center of town.

The hotel staff is all around friendly and the suites were amazing, clean with spectacular views. Overall a great time and I recommend this hotel for couples + friends looking to enjoy the beach.

They also enjoyed how each room had a kitchen and we were able to bring in our own food to keep cost down. The hotel has a beautiful pool area and beach area but its a bit confusing figuring out how to get to the beach. I suggest having the hotel staff take you on a tour of the hotel ground so that you are able to take advantage of everything it has to offer. Jazmin Cesena was my group coordinator and she was wonderful. She truly helped me keep my group happy.

On our last day there, a big storm came in and we were unable to enjoy the sun. The hotel set up a big screen and played movies in the down stairs bar/restaurant area. There was also a pool table and ping pong table available to play. This was a great option that kept their guest happy.

Love this place! This is our escape for week every year and it just gets better and better. We love the atmosphere. No loud games around the pool or weird music. Just pure relaxation. David at the bar took care of us and the waiters always remember your name. They aim to please in every way. 5 minute massages poolside to organized water sports to recommedations for the best places to eat.. Met some really nice friends over the past few years. See you next year!

“Beautiful hotel....too bad spring break is right in front....”

Reviewed November 3, 2012 NEW

We stayed at Casa Dorado as we won the trip at a benefit. We had a beautiful one bedroom suite on the 6th floor. Sitting on the deck for coffee every morning was a treat. The hotel is beautiful and the poor area is lovely. You can walk easily in to town for lots of shopping and eating! The big draw back to this place is Mango Deck World sits right on the beach in front of the pool. The drinking games and the guy on the mic is pretty annoying and very distracting. The music gets pretty loud at times. It starts up around noon and goes until late. They do seem to take Sunday off!!! Next time we will be sure not to have a beach club right in front of our hotel!

“Great location and solid property”

Reviewed November 4, 2012 NEW

When you arrive at the Casa Dorada, the building is somewhat plane; a stuccoed building with not much of an exterior. It is a time share property and the staff gently pushes the guests to explore buying timeshares. Check in is typically late, after 4:00 but the staff allows you to use the property spa and pool while your room is prepared. The rooms have a generous amount of space and our kept spotless by the hardworking employees. All rooms have views of the ocean and pool. The pool is kept clean and has a fun bar at one end of the pool. You are protected by a manned gate you must walk through to get to the beach. The beach is pretty. the one complaint is the unending string of vendors trying to sell you something and the loud noise of the Mango bar that partially obstructs the view of th beach from the rooms. All in all, the CD is a solid property. Have fun!

Room Tip:The higher floors provide the best views.

"Casa Dorada on Medano Beach”

Reviewed November 5, 2012 NEW

I recently stayed at the Casa Dorada on Medano Beach. We exchanged our timeshare in Florida for a 2 bedroom at this resort. The room was very nice and spacious. Our room was on the second floor and faced the ocean. The view was spectacular. The food on the resort was just so so but we only ate there once or twice so it really did not make a difference in our stay. The resort is walking distance to town. If there was a ddown side it would be that this is a timeshare and you will be hit up to do the tour. But if you say no there is no hard sale so it is really no big deal. I would definately stay at the Casa Dorada again.

“General Mgr Laura was GREAT!”

Reviewed November 6, 2012 NEW

We happened to be traveling with our very well behaved labrador Sammy and Laura (the general mgr) was absolutely incredible.

She not only made sure that our two toddlers were taken care of but that our dog (who is part of our family) was comfortable.

She was awesome. All staff was fantastic.

Please keep in mind when travelling in Mexico that Labor Law allows for 48 hour / 6 day per week work weeks and that all staff work those hours. Please be sure to tip and make their lives as prosperous as possible.

Casa Dorada is the only place to stay in Cabo! This was our 3rd year in a row visiting this resort. The accomodations are fantastic! The views are amazing and the location could not be better as you have a swimable beach and can walk to town. The service is always impeccable and very friendly. We will definitely be back again!

Room Tip: Ask to be on the 3rd floor or above for the best views.

Upon arrival was upgraded to two bedroom suite. Beautiful views! People were friendly and helpful. All staff was attentive. The only problem I had was the time share people. I knew that they would be approaching me here from other tripadvisor reviews. However, the pressure that they try to place on you to purchase a time share is crazy. I tried to explain to them that I would think over the information they presented, but they just switched me to another person until i finally said ENOUGH! I told them I was done with the presentation, I had said no twice and if I had to say no again i was going to become very angry. At this point the presentation concluded and I went on to thoroughly enjoy my time here. The room service was fast and the food was great. I had the salmon wrap and it was excellant. I recommend you bring coffee with you as this can be quite costly..$11.00 for a pot. The pools were well taken care of. I did not eat at the 12 tribes rest. but this was do to time as there was so many excellant places to eat. Th ehighlight food wise was the place directly across the street. I had the tuna tartar..by far the best i have ever had. The B lounge service was vey slow but drinks were good. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great vacation. The water was perfect, lots of activities, and food was incredible.

Room Tip: bring your own coffee, try to green juice in the rest. on the water you will love it!

We stayed here for a wedding this last weekend (October 27th, 2012). We got the junior suite, as we were only staying two nights. After a 2 hour drive from the airport due to traffic, I was in a horrible mood. But, as we were checking in they offered us drinks and I immediately started to feel better. Then, we get to our room. The junior suite is very similar to a "normal" hotel room, but it did have a kitchenette. It was not big. BUT, I opened the door and we had an unobstructed view of the ocean and beaches - nothing can beat that :)

The staff were friendly and not pushy towards us. The beach had it's own reserved area and the pools were both great.

It was a quick trip, but I'd really like to go back.

“Excellent Service - Especially by Reyna and Eney”

Reviewed October 23, 2012 NEW

Atmosphere: Our first impression of Casa Dorada was breathtakingly beautiful. As the driver dropped us off, without even walking into the building, we were caught by the stunning view of the ocean and arch. The layout is gorgeous. We were greeted promptly with a very strong welcome margarita (pineapple) ..delicious.

Service: Service was outstanding. We were accidentally booked in a room with two double beds. But, Reyna, the manager went out of her way to make it up to us. She upgraded us the next day to a one bedroom suite with jacuzzi on the 5th floor. She was very helpful and friendly. It was evident that she loves what she does and she is great at it. We experienced a little bit of resistant attitude from Lili, but Eney quickly jumped in and rectified the situation. Eney was also very helpful in getting us into our new room. She called down to the bell hops and had our bags brought up right away so we didn't have to wait til 3pm for checkout time to get into our new room.

Food: Food at the breakfast buffet was excellent and very varied. We had visited several other hotels each day to try their buffets and Casa Dorada was by far, the best. (except for the sunday brunch buffet a the Melia) ...Lunch was ok...nothing to rave about and service by the pool for lunch is very slow. But, I spoke to the manager about this and the problem was quickly rectified. I think our server was a bit overwhelmed with tables.

Spa: was under renovation at the time. The fitness centre seems it will be very impressive in size and variety. The spa services were excellent. I had Freddy and Gerry...both excellent at massage. Atmosphere in the spa was very relaxing with an herbed, iced drink and tea available as well as sauna and steam room. very clean and quiet. There was a hot and cold bath as well.

Beds: I am picky about beds...they were VERY comfortable. I just wish there was a pillow menu. I missed my contour pillow.
Overall: I would definitely stay here again.

“Awesome!”

Cabo is a great place to vacation. This is our 2nd time there, both times staying at Casa Dorada at Mendano Beach. Each room has a breath taking view of the Sea of Cortex and El Arco. The location is great since you are in walking distance to the Marina and downtown.

This time we used Victor's Cabo Transortation to go from the airport and back again. It included one stop (we went to Walmart) and beverages. We were happy with the service and will use them again.
Most days we sat at the pool, but we did walk to the beach and go in the water. The water was warm and calm, just awesome!
The food we ordered at the pool was good, but we also took a few days to eat lunch at other places. The Office and Mango Deck are directly behind the resort. They are both on the beach and have good food. The Office is quiet, most tables in the sand. The Mango Deck has tables inside and on the beach. This scene is more, spring break, party atmosphere. It is a good time and very entertaining.
My husband and I both got massages at the Spa, which is very nice. Mine was by Gerry, he did a great job. We used the spa last time and were very happy with the treatments.
As far as dinners, we went to a few restaurants, all in walking distance except one. Since we were there during hurricane Paul, we needed to eat inside one night. We walked across the street to Equina. The food was very good, little pricey, but they do have pizzas if you want to spend a little less. We went to dinner at Alexander's, in the marina. This was our second time here, food is very good. We also tried La Golondrina, excellent! We will go back there. The place was very pretty. The owner walks around and makes sure her guests are happy. She was very nice and appreciated feedback. Just make sure you are hungry, there is no shortage of food at this restaurant! We went to El Farallon for our Anniversary. This was our most expensive meal of the trip. The view is awesome, up on a cliff, over looking the pacific. The restaurant is in a very pretty resort. . The food was good, we had a nice evening and they gave us complimentary dessert!!
One afternoon we walked and ended up at the Shrimp Factory for lunch. It is downtown, on a corner. What a great find. The manager, Melissa was super sweet and cared that her customers were happy. The food and drinks were good and it is a place we would definitely go back to.
On a side note, the first time we were in Cabo was January. It is whale season at that time of year and whale watching is something that I highly recommend!!

“Perfect 40th Birthday Getaway”

Reviewed October 23, 2012 NEW

5 of my friends and I went to Cabo July 11-15th, 2012 to celebrate my 40th birthday. I must say that was the best vacation I have ever had. Casa Dorada and the staff were the icing on the cake. When we 1st arrived the van pulled up and I thought I was in heaven. We were greeted with the most amazing view looking out onto the ocean. Tomas at the front entrance was fabulous. He gave great suggestions for local activities, transportation and greeted us all with a handsome smile everyday.

When we checked in we were initially given a handicap 2 bedroom suite on the 2nd floor poolside. It was a nice room, but did not give me the view I requested on my reservation, plus the water did not get hot in the master shower. I immediately went to the front desk and requested a room change. The front desk was not able to change our room until the next day because they said they were at capacity. The next day we were able to change rooms to the 6th floor above the lobby area. Our room was perfect. I could not have dreamed of a better suite. The view was perfect, the room was clean everything as I saw on their website when I booked the room. The convience of the large kitchen allowed us to save money on food. We went grocery shopping at Walmart and cooked in our room for breakfast and Dinner a few nights.

The next day was my 40th birthday several guest greeted me Happy Birthday throughout the day. We spent part of the day on a great Booze cruise and walked along the marina. During our trip we also went zip-lining and parasalling. Despite other people's comments not once were we bombarded by time share sales people.

The resort is located at the best location in Cabo. I compared the location with others and I am so glad we stayed at Casa Dorada. Location was absolutely perfect. We were in walking distance to everything. The best place I went to almost everyday was the Mango Bar which is litteraly on the beach on the back side of the hotel. The food at Sharky's on the corner was excellent and the people were friendly.

I think we are going to make Cabo and Casa Dorada our annual trip. We had a blast.
