I've been going to Cabo San Lucas for over 20 years now. This is the first time I've stayed at Casa Dorado, it's fairly new. Loved it! Beautiful suites, great pool and the service is the best I've had in Cabo. The pool scene in very quite and relaxing, great for couples. And it's 100 yards from the La Officina & Edith's, great places to eat.

“Great Place to stay”

“Top notch service, amazing views and just a stroll to town!”
We have been coming to Casa Dorada since it first opened. We have always been astounded by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. This year we were fortunate to learn that the resort was going to be revamping and reenergizing the facilities. Met a kind gentleman named Mr. Leonardo Perli who informed us that in addition to a new poolside pizza oven and pool furniture in blue coming soon, the "stars at night" will be back in the pool soon, and it will be more eco-freindly with roof mounted solar panels. We were treated to a wonderful dinner at 12 Tribes provided by new chef Carlos Bonilla, and it can be safe to assume this view it will become a hotspot in Cabo for dinner soon. Had very tasty appetizers, perfectly cooked prime cut steaks, and scrumptious deserts that we had the privilege of sampling earlier in the week room service style for breakfast compliments of the resort. Once again Casa Dorada hits a grand slam home run, and this is why we never trade our weeks away!
“Outstanding”

This resort is as nice as any in which I have ever stayed. The accomodations are excellent, the staff is considerate and attentive, the restaurants are excellent and the beach is very nice. All of the rooms have a nice view of the beach and the water. It is within walking distance of the center of Cabo and the harbor.
“The Best on the beach!!!!”
Beautiful resort, wonderful staff, an all around perfect place to stay when in Cabo!!!! We have stayed at Casa Dorada the last seven times while in Cabo and will not stay anywhere else; it is the cleanest, most beautiful resort on the beach.
Dear glorbri, Thank you for share your comments, we are happy to hear that Casa Dorada is your home away home! Please return again and again! It is our pleasure to host you in our resort. Regards, Laura Lachica Guest Services Manager More ![]()
“Excellent Place!”

On Medano beach and walking distance to town and lots of restaurants. This place is very beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Time at the pool was relaxing with just soft music playing. We were very impressed with our room and it looked like all rooms had spectacular views.
“Great Location”

Overall the staff was extremely accommodating. One hiccup at the front desk with an employee that clearly doesn't understand hospitality, but everyone else was fantastic, though sales driven. Ivan & Emilio at the pool were outstanding. They went above and beyond to accommodate every need.
“Excellent first stay in Cabo!”

My family and I just returned from a fabulous week in Cabo San Lucas. We stayed at Casa Dorada, which was a great choice based on its excellent location, facilities and service. We loved the location on Medano beach close to several excellent restaurants and a 5-10 minute walk to the Marina. As people have already stated, we were gracefully and immediately greeted with some delightful margaritas upon our arrival. the staff was great and were able to offer an upgrade to a one bedroom from a Jr. suite when we requested it. The suite was REALLY spacious and offered several different spaces for us to spend a comfortable week, including two terraces. LR, DR, full kitchen, bath and separate dressing and jacuzzi space. I felt the staff was very attentive and went out of their way to provide excellent service. The view from our hotel room was great, and we had several outstanding Cabo restaurants within a five minute walk (The Office, Edith's, Bar La Esquina, Hacienda). At this time of year, we had our choice of seats around the two pools and in the beach area. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely consider returning there! The only negative was that they were fixing the fitness center, so we only had a chanc eto use it for a coule of days.
“Perfect Cabo Getaway”
Stayed 7 days at the Casa Dorada in a group of 8. We had side-by-side two bedroom suites which worked out very nicely. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Whether poolside, at the spa or coming through the front door, a friendly face was there to greet you and offer help, if needed.
The rooms were extremely clean - in fact even the balcony was mopped daily.
The location was fantastic with immediate beach access and just a short stroll to the marina. Shopping and dining options were available both at the beach and the marina. From the resort, we booked a catamaran exursion on the Eco Cat which was definitley a highlight of the trip.
The pool bar had daily two-for-one specials on food and drinks all of which were very good.
I would recommend this resort to anyone coming to Cabo for a nice relaxing vacation.
“BEST SERVICE EVER”

Cabo San Lucas is known to have exceptional customer service from the locals AND hotel/resorts - on top of its amazing food and town. Casa Dorada is one of the newer hotel/resorts and has the PERFECT location. Beachfront, near the Office and town but tucked away on a side street. Too many wonderful attributes to list. However, the SERVICE is EXCEPTIONAL here. Especially pool side and 12 Tribes restaurant (overlooks ocean and has no walls)...and is delicious. This is one of those resorts that really feels like home and by the time you are ready to leave you will likely miss the staff as much as the resort itself. They are wonderful.
“Great place to spend the day”

We booked a day package from our cruise line. This included full use of the pool, beach area , a buffet lunch and a room (for all on the tour) to change, freshen up etc. We totally enjoyed the day swimming, relaxing and taking in the views. Our buffet was actually very good and fresh!!! although this is a time share , no one ever talked about it, I guess paying for the day excludes that part. I would definitely come back and stay here, it is one of the nicer resorts in Cabo.
“Great location, great service, great property!”

My fiancé and I were debating between two or three hotels, all central and within the same price point. After a bit of research (and scouring TripAdvisor), we opted for Casa Dorada and we couldn't have been happier with our decision! The property is beautiful; the views are stunning and the rooms are well appointed. The service is great; the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and the concierge service was very helpful. And the location... well, I'm not sure how you can beat it! This was my first time in Cabo (my fiancé's third or fourth) and we were walking distance to everything. If we decided to cab, we weren't more than a $6 cab ride from any restaurant that we wanted to visit.
The pool area is great -- wonderful pool, great lounge area and especially nice towels (minor, but I even commented on them)! They have happy hour from 11-12 and from 4-5PM where drinks are 2 for 1. The lounge area by their restaurant, 12 Tribes, is great for a pre-dinner cocktail, too! I didn't experience much of their spa, but the spa menu looked great for any ladies looking to get pampered on their getaway. Nice workout facility, though I didn't use it as much as I had hoped (the pool was too enticing).
All in all, a fab experience. If we go back to Cabo (which we probably will!), we would stay here again without a question!
“great stay in Cabo”

This was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas and we agree with most reviews that the vacation club staff are persistant in trying to get you to go to one of their presentations. After two days of "no thank you" and finally firmly stating we were not interested, they were better. Other than that the hotel is fantastic in every way. The location is perfect. Very close to town and the marina, the food was good and there were many great restaurants close by, the entire hotel staff was friendly and accomodating in every way, the rooms are clean and spacious. We asked for an upgrade, and we were given a bigger room with a pool/beach view. We were often asked how things were going and if we needed anything. We will most likely go back again.
“Great Location and Nice Property”

Casa Dorada was a lovely place to stay for a girls weekend. The room was big and comfortable, and the staff was generally helpful. The property is pretty quiet and has a broad mix of people staying there but trended towards older couples and families. The hotel is directly in front of the Mango Deck and The Office, and also there are tons of water activities directly outside the hotel. It was about a 10 minute walk to the marina.
Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor!
“I'll Try to Make it Quick”

There is absolutely too much to write about this place, here is what we loved about Casa Dorada:
1. The location is GREAT! Turn left when you leave the lobby and keep walking left. Eventually you will get to a "Y" intersection ... keep going left. Once you are half-way down the hill, turn right and you will be right beside the mall/shopping and restaurants of the marina. Superb location - maybe a 10 minute saunter?
2. The view is stunning!
3. The beach is really great and fine to swim in - tough to find in this part of Mexico.
4. The pool - loved the multi levels, loved the temperature (much more comfortable than the cold ocean). We didn't get to the pool bar, but I think we would have loved it.
5. Attentive poolside staff, but not overbearing. They knew when to bug you and when to not.
6. Great lounge area on the beach - and the vendors are NOT PUSHY! I loved it! They would ask (ask they should as they are in sales), but all you have to say is "No gracias" and they leave. It was a splendid change from other areas of Mexico.
7. The drinks were really yummy, as was the one meal we had there.
8. While the wifi there is awfully overpriced, walk to the coffee bar in the hotel across the street, or even to the Marina, or walk all the way down to the Cabo Bakery ... all give free wifi, as do many other places all within walking distance of Casa Dorada.
9. Speaking of the Cabo Bakery - this is a great location for that (I will write another review) and a must visit while staying in Cabo.
10. The firepits! I absolutely hate smelling like campfire, but these are natural gas (I think) so no smell!!! They are surrounded by a relaxing seating area with a stunning view of the ocean. Spend a couple evenings here with a glass of wine (or your fave beverage) - there's nothing like it.
11. There are many places to relax in this resort ... hammocks ... loungers .... large private balconies .... loved it all. Spend an evening reading a book while lazing in the hammock with one of the best views you'll ever have.
12. The room staff were great - clean up, turn down ... loved being spoiled and having a clean room all the time. They even washed our dishes! We were going to do them later ... but they did them for us! What a treat.
13. This is more of a tip - but get up around 6:30AM or so one morning and make sure to take time to watch all of the fishing boats heading out. It's really a beautiful site.
Well ... I'm not sure how quick that was ... but those are my favourite things of Casa Dorada. I'd go back ... in a heart beat ... just be prepared for the pushy timeshare people. We even tried to plan our escapes from the resort without having to go through the front doors! haha
“"Fantastic"”

We have been to Cabo San Lucas with our children/grandchildren and since this trip was just for us, we searched and read all the reviews regarding different hotels. We chose Casa Dorada based on the pictures, location but mostly because of the reviews. And we were not disappointed!!!!! It is so convenient on location, and this hotel is so well maintained and clean. The reviews do not do it justice on the staff! You can tell that everyone truly enjoys their job there and the staff go above and beyond to make things wonderful for you. The Sea Bass prepared by Carlos at 12 Tribes was the best I have ever had. We loved all the happy hours and the 2 for 1 meals by the pool everyday. Sunny, and Angela always served us happily, Marivn was there to even turn our chairs to face the sun and beach every morning with a smile, Evan always stopped by to visit and see if there was anything he could do to make our visit better. I cannot say enough great things regarding our stay, we are already talking about our next stay at Casa Dorado. Wish we had Omar to great us at the door when we returned home. He always made us laugh!!!! And Mr., Perli, your graciousness will never be forgotten! Thanks to the entire staff for such an incredible vacation!
“Wonderful Resort and incredible staff!”

We have stayed at Casa Dorada several times and it is a beautiful place to stay. It is within walking distance to the harbor and is central on Medano beach. Our last stay a friend of ours was severely injured at Wild Canyon zip lines and she was hospitalized. Casa Dorada provided us with a car and driver to take us to and from the hospital. We were touched when all the staff would ask how our friend was doing and also asked if there was anything they could do for us. The entire staff was wonderful and made the rest of our stay great. Thanks especially to Tomas at the front.

“Loved it”
Stayed there for 3 nights. Service was very attentive. Were upgraded to a suite which was equipped with a kitchenette , a large living room and a vast bedroom. Very convenient and pleasant. One cons was that he living room floor was not as clean as we expected , but one phone call sorted it out.
“My husband and I found Casa Dorada to be a in a highly desirable location, close to the Marina area and many other fine restaura”
Having been to Cabo San Lucas 3 years earlier and exploring different resorts, we chose to stay at Casa Dorada based on its location and good reviews. We invited another couple to join us and they couldn't say enough good things as to location, amenities, service staff, and the excellent rooms we stayed in as well.
The service staff went over and above to ensure we had everything we could ever want for, the rooms were updated and very clean, there were several restaurants on site as well as many many wonderful restaurants within a very short walking distance, we were just a few minutes walking distance to the Marina area with all its shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities as well, and the beautiful Medano beach was just steps outside our door.
We will definitely be back as this one of our best vacations ever!
Our thanks to the staff of The Casa Dorada for making our stay pleasant and enjoyable
“Awesome place to stay in Cabo!”

Had a great 4-night stay here in April 2013 with my girlfriend. If you want to be in Cabo (as opposed to the corridor), this is a great place to stay, with great amenities, friendly service and most importantly a killer location. You are in the middle of everything (which might be a downside, depending on your preferences and attitude towards the spring break crowd at Mango Deck), on a swimmable beach and within a short walk to some great restaurants as well as downtown.
“Casa Dorada es la mejor!”

Just returned from my first visit to Cabo, and could not have picked a better place to stay than Casa Dorada! The location was absolutely spectacular--just a quick walk to downtown and literally right next door to several outstanding restaurants/beach bars. The service was top notch, the beach beautiful with calm, swimmable water (apparently this is not the case in all of Cabo), and the rooms were phenomenal. We had booked two junior suites--both of which were upgraded without even requesting it to a 1-bedroom near the middle of the property, giving a full and direct view of the water. The rooms were huge, two amazing balconies looking at pure paradise, and top notch furnishings and electronics. It was like waking up and going to sleep to a postcard every morning.
Yes, we tipped. Not because it was a prequisite for getting good service--but because the service was wonderful and everyone deserved it. It was clearly appreciated and the great service was uninterrupted from housekeeping to bartenders to the front desk to waitstaff at the pool and beach area. Food was fantastic everywhere on and off the resort, and drinks were absolutely perfect. Prices for food and drink were better than expected--"2 for 1" drinks from beach service all day, every day. How can you go wrong?
If I find myself back in Cabo again, which I certainly hope I do, I see no reason to stay anywhere other than Casa Dorada!
“Awesome - No Regrets”

We visited in March for my brother's bachelor party, and it was one of the best times of my life. We had a group of 13, and I wanted to make sure we stayed at an excellent resort...Casa Dorada was everything I imagined plus more. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was amazing (especially Jazmin, who helped me reserve a block of rooms months in advance), and the location was PERFECT. Medano Beach is literally right behind the resort, and all of the bars and clubs are walking distance. We had amazing breakfast buffets every morning at the resort restaurant, complete with an amazing view of the ocean....yea I'm talking BOSS. The concierge was great with helping us set up a Booze Cruise, and the beach vendors can be surprisingly friendly if you ask the right questions.
“We loved it!”

Great location. Within walking distance to town or only $6 by cab. Beautiful, clean Madano Beach. Loved the one bedroom accomodations, balconies. Clean. Friendly staff willing to help. I would recommend Mango Deck for lunch, Salvatore's Italian and Maria Corona's for dinner.
“Love it no complaints”

Last time stayed at the Me, next store and we liked Casa Dorada better. Just got back after a weeks stay and have no complaints! Our room was nice and large 1 bedroom. Housekeeping was great kept the place spotless, Customer service treated us very well as well as no issue with people trying to see us timeshares when we were there. Hotel is in a great great location walking distance to everything you need the marina (10 minutes), Sharkey's is a great place across the street for bfast, lunch dinner, 2 stores right across the street should you happen to need any necessities. All rooms above 3rd floor and up have great ocean views and beautiful sunrises! We did not experience any issue with loungers and we spent the day at the beach every day. If you needed an umbrella chair etc, the beach personnel were more than accomodating and you just asked them and they set you up! More people seem to hang at the pool than the beach and reserve chairs there. We are beach peoples & only went to the pool for drinks at the pool bar after at the end of our beach day. Beach has tons of options to eat, drinks such as Tobascos, Billygans, the Office, and on and on which are less than a 5 min walk. Totally recommend the purchasing of the Cabo Passport card which gave us 2 for 1 eating at Melia, Tobascos, Sharkeys, Whale watching cruise, paddle boarding so it was def worth it. There was 4 of us so we ended up saving alot of $$ with the card. Also had Cabo Cruzer deliver and stock our bar the date we checked in. We are on vacation so had no desire to go to Walmart and he is more than reasonable for his rates. All and all Casa Dorada is in a wonderful convenient location, experienced nothing but great customer service and very clean. I would not hesitate to go back!
“OUR FAVORITE !!”
We have 7 weeks of timeshare in the Cabo area and this is our favorite. We have a fixed week in a fixed penthouse in early March. Over the years, several family members have also acquired weeks in this great facility. It is like a family reunion with 16 of us there this past March. The location is great with walking distance to all of the Cabo restaurants and activities. Aldo is very excellent in handling the sales and promotion people. You never have to worry about being pestered if you don't want to participate. Just tell him your preferences.
The pool is great and that is where we spend most of the time. Bismark one of the pool staff, is very efficient in meeting your needs. Pattie the waitress at the B-Bar, and sometimes around the pool, remembers your favorite drinks and is fun to work with.
The food at the pool is good and the twelve tribes restaurant is better this year. It may be overpriced but they often have specials that bring the effective price down.
The proximity to the bars on Medono Beach means that it can be loud but the rooms are well insulated so that you don't hear them at night. The rooms on the 3rd - 8th floors have the best views. Try to get a room near the center section for the best views and the quietest.
We love this place.
“Dream Wedding at Casa Dorada! Absolutely PERFECT!”

We had 25 rooms booked for our friends and family at Casa Dorada for the weekend of April 6th. We got married at Cabo Del Sol and our wedding planner suggested that we and our guests stay at Casa Dorada. It was one of the best decisions we made! The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms amazing and very large, the staff excellent, food great, and event coordinator Jazmin amazing. They were fantastic to deal with in every aspect - prompt to answer emails, gave everyone a great room for a great price, and treated all of our guests with respect. Our guests particularly raved about the amazing location, great drink deals (it seemed to always be happy hour!), huge rooms, great views, and great service. Jazmin, I must say, was a huge highlight. She was so nice to all of us and was fantastic to work with.
We hosted a welcome party for our guests at the 12 Tribes Terrace and it was perfect. The hotel even cooked up all the fish the guys caught on a deep sea fishing trip that day and our group of 60 had dinner. Even on such short notice, the hotel was fantastic. All the food was great!
We will be going back to Casa Dorada year after year. You really can't find a better hotel, in a better location, for such an amazing price. All in all it was PERFECT! I would highly suggest if you are a couple, family, or a large group. Casa Dorada was a great choice!
On a side note, after Casa Dorada we moved to the One and Only. Even compared to such a "high end" resort, Casa Dorada holds it's own. It really is a gem of a place and amazing quality for the cost. I would recommend to everyone! Out of 5+ trips to Cabo and staying at 7 different hotels in the area, Casa Dorada is the best!
“Bachelor Party in Los Cabos”

I recently just got back Los Cabos. My brother planned my bachelor party and thought Cabo San Lucas would be the perfect spot. I completely agreed. Good nightlife and we can sit on the beach during the day sipping on drinks. This property is absolutely amazing. Right as we got out of our shuttle from the airport (~40 min drive) and arrived at the hotel, we were helped immediately with our luggage. We had 13 people in our group so we had quite a few bags. As you walk into the hotel, it is wide open and you can see the downstairs and pool area and ocean from the balcony (lobby is on the 2nd floor and you can take an elevator/staircase to the main floor to access the pool area). We had booked 4 junior suites (I recommend booking far in advance to get the best rate). Our trip was graciously taken care of by Jazmin (she specializes in group bookings). At check-in, were upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite. The service/hospitality at this hotel is top-notch! We were shown to our rooms and baggage was delivered to our rooms in a timely fashion. We all stayed from a Thursday-Sunday. The hotel does offer an all-inclusive option but we didn't opt for that as we wanted to explore Cabo San Lucas as well and were out on most of the nights.
Food: The hotel has many restaurants. They had a $15 special for a breakfast buffet that we enjoyed every morning of our stay. We also ate at one of the restaurants at the hotel on one night as well. The food was great, but can get pricey if you are going to be eating at the hotel for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Beach: The hotel is located on Medano beach and apart of the beach is sectioned off for hotel guests only. They have beach chairs with umbrellas layed out and you can even lay/sit in a bed they have on the beach as well. The only thing to watch out for is all the sales people selling hats, t-shirts, etc on the public portion of the beach who will constantly harass you, but you just tell them to keep moving along or pay no attention. We did end up buying Cabo San Lucas bandannas for all of us though (very easy to bargain). The beachfront also had the Mango deck bar/restaurant. This was great for our group as most of us are 24-30 year old.
Service: Top-notch. They take care of your every need and are extremely friendly. Jazmin and Annabelle at the front desk definitely took care of us and made sure we were satisfied with our experience at the hotel. I would give this property 6 stars if I could and the main reason why is how they handled my lost phone. On the way to the airport, we used one of the hotel cabs (you get a voucher for the cab and it is pricey $70 one way---we had 4 of us in the cab, so split by 4 it's not to bad) and I misplaced my phone in the hotel cab, I believe it fell out of my pocket. I thought I was never going to see my Iphone 5 again. I didn't realize until we were already through security at the airport. The next day I contacted the property to see if the cab driver had turned the phone in or found it. LUCKILY, the phone was returned to the concierge desk and I was contacted via email about it. I had to identify that it was mine and fill out a claims form for the phone. They did charge me $64 for the shipping but I eventually received my phone back in one piece. The whole process was very smooth and I commend the hotel for having honest people working on staff.
Bottom Line: This is a family-friendly hotel with mature hotel guests. We were happy we didn't run into 18-20 year old spring break kids. We had our fun and no one bothered us. I highly recommend this property!
“Will update ASAP upon return!”

We leave Sunday and since the reviews are quite positive, I hope to report the same. I've booked 7 couples for a 3 night stay and promise to let everyone know what I think when we get back. If anyone has any questions for me before I leave, I'll do my best to have answers upon my return!
“Great experience”

We just got back from Casa Dorada yesterday and we had a wonderful time there! The hotel is very clean, the rooms are big with kitchenettes and huge balconies. The hotel is perfectly located : 10 min walk from Marina and downtown with tons of restaurants to choose from. If you're looking for a swim able beach - it's one of the very few locations in Cabo that has white sandy beach. The water was a bit too cold this time of the year. The swimming pool in the hotel was a bit dirty but the hotel was totally booked due to kids school break. The staff is very friendly and the service is unbelievably quick for Mexico (we've been to many 5-star resorts in Mexico where you have to wait for hours for anything fixed in your room - not in Casa Dorada: everything was taken care of promptly). The only complain really is that our a/c in the room was very loud and woke us up during the night, but other than that, the hotel is a great place to stay if you go to Cabo!
“It was fabulous!”
This was our first time visiting Cabo and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful place to stay than this hotel. The staff upgraded us to a suite at no cost. We had an issue at check in, which was resolved quickly and kindly.
The spa and gym were both excellent. The food at the 12 Tribes restaurant was overpriced but the 2 for 1 daily specials was a great bargain for both food and drinks.
“Casa Dorada”

We had a wonderful stay at the Casa Dorada. Rooms were nice and staff were excellent. It was walking distance to the marina and downtown area. I would go back agan. The food could have been better that was the downside. Never had a problem finding a pool side chair and it was spring break. The spa was great too.
“Fabulous Last-Minute Find”

Given the fact that we made the decision to book 3 days prior to travel and it was Easter week-end, I was expecting a lot less. A whole lot less. Now it's not Pamilla, Ventanas or Esperanza but this resort was great. It is right on the beach, the room was huge, the view was great, the restaurant not so great but overall, a gem. I probably walked by this place 30 times during my other stays here and never realized it was here. It is behind The Office so there was a lot of people on the beach over the week-end, but wow this is nice.
“Fantastic Resort”

Upon arriving to Casa Dorada I instantly had a positive vibe of the place. Walking in I was greeted with complimentary margaritas and warmly welcomed by all of the staff around me. The resort itself is incredible with a huge outdoor swimming/seating/lounging area that has every amenity you could ask for.
The staff are all genuinely friendly please not my emphasis on the GENUINE part. I have stayed at quite a few resorts now and while all staff are usually polite their is usually a hidden look of disdain for tourists that I am able to pick up on. This can be understandable as we american tourists are notorious for being obnoxious and demanding but none the less its discouraging. Casa Dorada however is not like that! You can tell the staff actually are friendly and make you feel welcome and at home the moment you walk in.
The other huuuuuge plus about this place is their amazing 1 for 1 and happy hour deals that they have every day. Usually when you stay at a resort as nice and expensive as this one you can expect that their food/drink will be just as pricey. Not Casa Dorada. Every day they have an alternating menu item that you can buy 1 get one free for. And im talking about full sized, large, delicious (im a food snob), high quality meals that if split with another person can end up being $6-8 for TWO meals. They also have happy hour drinks, 1 for 1 drinks of pretty much any drink you could ask for.
Our rooms were cleaned perfectly and immaculately every day top to bottom.....The location is PERFECT, a 5 min walk to downtown cabo (squid roe etc.) and a perfect location on the beach right above mango deck and with a perfect view of lovers beach.... i could go on and on but you get the point. the place is awesome. stay here when you go to cabo its well worth your time and money.
“First Time to Cabo”
We have been to many of the beach resorts in Mexico (Cancun, Playa, Cozumel, Tulum, PV and Zihuatanejo) but this was our first time to Cabo. We researched many of the resorts before chosing Casa Dorada. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are large, the service was excellent and the location is walkable to the marina district and/or a short taxi ride by boat or car. A boat taxi from the beach is approximately $3 per person (very convenient) and the cab fare is $8 or so........everything is negotiable.
The hotel staff upgraded us on arrival from a Jr. Suite to a one bedroom suite. Our friends had the Jr. Suite (same floor) and their view was better. The main advantage of the one bedroom suite is the size of the bathroom and the jetted tub. We would have been happy with either room.
Breakfast was included with our room rate and was very good. The food at the pool area was also good. We ate all of our other meals off-site (within one block walking distance) and there are numerous choices and all of the them were good - I especially liked the Baja Brewery which is on the eight floor of an adjacent hotel with a very nice view and live music.
Two businesses and their owners who were very helpful, knowledgeable and I would recommend them if you are going to visit Cabo. Airport Transportation - Arturo at Translobo is the best!! - he met us at the airport and had an immaculate suburban, ice cold drinks and we were at our hotel very quickly - a super nice guy - the same goes for the trip back. We also took advice from another trip advisor review regarding a cafe in the marina called D Right Joint and the owner is Carlos. D Right Joint overlooks the marina, is very casual, we watched the NCAA basketball games there and Carlos (the owner) knows everything about Cabo and his customer service is excellent. A very casual and affordable restaurant.
Cabo is more expensive than the other locations we have visited in Mexico but it is definitely worth a visit. We had a great time.

This year was a little different - I invited family & we brought donations down for a local orphanage in Todos Santos. My beautiful nieces aged 9 & 13 were able to translate for us as they have attended Spanish Emersion school since they were young. Visiting these children was an amazing experience for all of us!
“Great Location Beautiful Place to stay!”

This hotel was beautiful ! Very friendly service. My friends family and I went for Spring break. They have a time share here what I liked about the stay is I was only asked two times if I would like to take a tour and consider doing a time share. I thought it would be a lot more high pressure. When I said I was not interested they left me alone. After all what do I need a time share for when I can come anytime I want... My friends have 6 weeks. The pool side service was amazing great drinks and good guacamole and salsa poolside snacks. Rooms are amazing and there is no bad view! Great location easy walk to town easy walk to marina and the beach is only a few steps away.
“ANOTHER AMAZING STAY AT CASA DORADA”
This was our second stay at the Casa Dorada in Los Cabos. Last time was a family trip & this time an anniversary celebration for just my husband & myself. Both vacations were perfect! We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was very roomy, beautifully appointed with the most comfortable bed we have ever experienced in a hotel, and a breathtaking view of the Sea of Cortez from two balconies. The two bedroom suite was a great choice when we brought the family. The service and staff are second to none. The property is gorgeous and impeccably kept. Quite a few excellent restaurants have opened within walking distance of the hotel since our last stay. A very nice surprise, but don't miss the food at the Casa Dorada. Certainly worth it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And a quick cab ride to Wal-mart is always a good idea to stock up on snacks, drinks or anything you may have forgotten to pack! While we are willing to try new activities & restaurants each time we visit, the only hotel we would consider is the Casa Dorada. What a wonderful find!!

Wonderful family vacation!”
We had a wonderful time staying at the Casa Dorada last July. The people were very nice and helpful. Our 2 bedroom unit was perfectly located with a view of the Sea of Cortez and El Arco, with ground floor access. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cabo and would certainly go again. I would recommend staying on the left side (as you look out to the sea) of the property, it's not as close to the beach bar and the loud music. However, I felt like the room was very well insulated, and we weren't bothered by the loud music at all. We were on the left side of the resort. The weather in July is hot, almost too hot. I wouldn't go any later than mid-July and would avoid Aug. and Sept. We went scuba diving and the water was very murky. I think October would have been better for diving. Be prepared to be hit up by timeshare people everywhere, airport, resort, even the grocery store!
“Can't Wait to go Back!”
I have been to Cabo eight times, however, the first time I've stayed at Casa Dorada. I will never stay any where else now! What a beautiful propery! The views and location are unbelieveable...the service impeccable! We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was gorgeous...two balconies over looking the pool and the Sea of Cortez. We ate at the 12 Tribes which was an experience in and of itself, food and wine great, service excellent, view unbelievable! The pool is beautiful and the swim up bar was wonderful! The location of the property is perfect, ocean, marina and downtown are all within walking distance. On a scale of 1-10 I give the Casa Dorada a 10! We are already in the process of planning our next trip to Casa Dorada!!

“Wonderful resort”
My husband surprised me with this getaway trip and it was awesome! We went in Feb-the weather was mild and it was not too crowded. Our room was clean and huge with 2 balconies and great views. The pool service and beach service is good, the staff are friendly and attentive, plus 2 for 1 drinks all day. Just avoid to first row of chairs on the beach and you won't be too bothered by the constant vendors trying to sell overpriced junk. The location is perfect with the hotel's own beach area, plenty of activities and walking distance to the marina, shops and restaurants. Highly recommend Bar Esquina which is in the Bahia Hotel right across the street. Excellent food and service but make reservations for dinner-it gets packed! The Office is right behind the hotel, great margaritas and seafood tacos right on the sand. I highly recommend making reservations at Hacienda Cocina on the Hacienda property-the food was amazing with awesome views. Mango Deck is annoying which is a shame for this great location, but we just shut our doors and weren't too bothered. We were never approached by any timeshare people as others have mentioned.
Even at the airport, we just kept walking and we were never approached at all.
We had such a great time here and hope to return soon!!

“It is home away from home!”
You have to go!! We have been going for six years and have loved it every time. The resort is gorgeous, everyone is SO accomedating, the pools are perfect. The food at the twelve tribes is delicious! And the food at the pool bar is fantastic for lunch. We ate there almost every day. The beach there is great for swimming. The service on the beach is awsome! Laura, SYlvia, and Martin make us feel like family. We've never had to rent a car. You can walk to everything. All year long we look forward to being there. Hope you can too!!

“Location, Location”
We just stayed 2 weeks at Casa Dorada Feb/March and had an amazing time in this beautiful resort. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They are all very hard workers and made our vacation fantastic. We always stay at Casa Dorada for the great location, right on the beach, stunning views of the Arches and walking distance to town. For the Starbucks lovers, this is the 1st hotel to have a Starbucks station in it, wow. The accommodations are the best. Large rooms with huge balconies and the beds are very comfortable. The 12 Tribes Restaurant on the property is great. Carlos, the chef and his staff have done an amazing job. Portions are large and the service is wonderful. Must try their lobster bisque!! The steaks are great too. They offer a Mediterranean set menu 1 night of the week and it is fantastic!! Can't wait to go back!!

“Amazing hotel, location, staff, service and wedding location!!!”
My wife and I just got back from our wedding week in Cabo. We decided on Casa Dorada after visiting during a scouting trip back in August. The hotel, location, and staff were amazing. Specifically Jazmin Cesena who is the coordinator. She worked with our coordinator who lives in Cabo and helped organize what was an incredible, memorable experience. There were some wrinkles, but when do you not. Upon our arrival to Casa Dorada, Jazmin and the rest of the staff catered to our every need. Pretty much every staff member knew we were the couple getting married that week and ensured us and our guests were taken care of for anything we needed. We held poolside activities were guests from other hotels attended, and the staff provided towels and loungers for all of them. Our bar events were excellent. We had food and cocktails at every turn. We participated in their ping pong tournament. We had vball games in their pool. Made use of their spa facilities. Use their beach area. Took over the swim up bar. We had close to 100 family and friends and all of them were treated as vip's. The rooms are huge. Pretty much full size kitchens, so you can stock your fridge. The living area is huge and the patios are fantastic with great views. But the pool and beach are so amazing that you never spend time in the room except to sleep. There are hot tubs in each room. Hotel is pricey, but you pay for what you get. There are value hotels. This is appropriately priced. On to the wedding part of the review. We were easily the largest wedding here. 100 total. The deck at 12 Tribes overlooks the beach and has the bay in the background with land's end. It is absolutely gorgeous. Once you walk down the aisle, it is absolutely breathtaking. Their furniture is top notch. The only down side to the location is mago deck. They are pretty loud. But nothing was taking away from our day. Guests were onlooking from their balconies and pool area because the set up was outstanding. Then on to the beach area for cocktails. No better way to take in the sunset. They set up foot cleaning stations for the guests. The on to dinner and reception under the palapa at 12 tribes. We managed to push the limits on how many they can seat, but it worked out perfectly. The dance party back on the open air deck went off. And then they provided us with an after party at Maydan restaurant underneathe, where we managed to dance until the wee hours. At all points of the night, plenty of staff were on hand to take care of everyone. Once the partying was done, my wife and I arrived to a beautifully decorated room with rose petals, cake, wine, flowers, and decorations. We were blown away. The day after the wedding we hosted a beach party for which the staff set up towels, chairs, lounges, and service for us. We again had guests from everywhere join us and it went off without a hitch. We closed up the beach and went to the spa were we easily broke every code with 42 people. But the staff remained friendly and still catered to us. The only time they came by was to remind us of a closing time. They were so gracious we ensured to leave the area as clean as possible. Overall, an incredible experience for us and our guests. The ones that stayed here were blown away by the service as well. Jazmin was excellent. Making herself available at all times during our stay. The bell boys, bar staff, kitchen staff, everyone from Casa Dorada received a big THANK YOU from us. We will absolutely be back. No doubt about it. Food was great. Drinks were flowing. We were entertained. Pampered. anything at any time. This easily surpassed every expectation we had. We could not have been happier with how this turned out. Again, a huge THANK YOU to Jazmin and everyone at Casa Dorada that made our wedding truly special.
"Great Property”
Stayed here on a family vacation. The rooms were very spacious, with full kitchen. The ocean view was wonderful, with a large balcony outfitted with a table and few chairs. Valet parking has in/out priviledges and you can call from your room to have the car ready for you by the time you come downstairs. The food on the property is excellent. You can walk to other restaurants, take a glass-bottom boat, and enjoy the pools and sauna. I did notice that no one was swimming in the ocean, even though the weather was pretty warm. The only complaint would be that Mango's bar is really loud!
“Amazing Hotel, with a Few Minor Faults”
After going to this hotel 2 times and will soon be going for a third time, I thought I would write a review.
This hotel is amazing. The location is to die for. You're right on the beach, literally, just a few steps away. The ocean is beautiful and Lovers Beach (the beach near the rocks) is stunning to visit. The jet-skies are a blast and the area around the hotel is safe and lively. There are tons of shops and plenty of food choices..which brings me to my first fault. The food here is average. The breakfast buffet is good, basiclly just tons of bread and meat. The lunch is meh. If you're out by the pool and you don't want to go out, it's acceptable. Prices are pretty expensive though. However for dinner I would strongly recommend eating out...you can find MUCH better places to eat if you just look around a bit. But hey, it's always happy hour!
“3rd time's a charm!”
This was our 3rd year at Casa Dorada. I think each year we have a better experience, perhaps because we know what to expect. The last 2 years at check in we paid for an upgrade to a one bedroom/ 2 bath suite and were hoping to do the same this year. But this particular room type was not available except for room 201 over the Mango Deck. We declined and were given a free upgrade to an Executive Suite which we found to meet our needs perfectly. We were in room 224 which was not the best view from our balcony to Lands End due to the roof of 12 Tribes but we were able to see the beautiful Cabo sunsets. The room itself was more than adequate with a small kitchenette, living/ dining area and separate bedroom. The bath had 2 sinks and a nice shower. Outside the bath was a separate mirror/ counter space and jacuzzi. We hope we are so fortunate next year to score an Executive Suite. We are beach people, which is part of what we love at Casa Dorada. The service on the beach is exceptional and great people watching. I suggest sitting in the second row of chairs unless you enjoy the continuous interaction with beach vendors. We did not eat on site as there are so many fun places to explore in Cabo. We do wish Casa Dorada had free, reliable internet access. And we hate the time share attack when we first arrive, but this year I made it very clear we did not want to be bothered by them and they left us alone the rest of our stay.

“Wonderful resort!”
We just had a day pass to Casa Dorado and it is wonderful. Right on Medano Beach, the best in Cabo. The three pools are spacious. Few kids which keeps the noise down. No loud mouth activities director making noise all day long. Decent food and beverage prices. Jorge and Aldo provide great service!
“Just About Perfect Location”
This is great place to stay in Cabo. This beautiful hotel is a short walk to the Marina or town and is on the Medano beach - a large and swimable beach. There are plenty of good restaurants within a short walking distance. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. We had the one bedroom suite and there were two balaconies for us to use. From the upper floors, there is a a great view of the ocean, the rocky cliffs and Lover's Beach. The staff were friendly and attentive. The swimming pool is heated.
Two shortcomings of the hotel:
1. The food poolside and at 12 Tribes is not very good. But you have your own kitchen and there are plenty of good alternatives a short walk away.
2. The wi-fi speed was ok, but the coverage was spotty inside the room. We found the best coverage by the pool or out on our balcony. Wi-fi cost $50 per week and can only be used on one device at a time.
We agreed that on our next trip to Cabo, we would stay at the Casa Dorada again.
BTW, we rented our room from vbro.com at a very attractive price.

“Beautiful Location, wonderful staff!”
You can't pick a better location in Cabo. Best views of the arch, clean sand beaches and walking distance to downtown and the marina. Crawling distance from "The Office" . Plus The rooms are spacious and they all include balconies w/ocean views. The pool staff is phenomenal. Happy hour all day (2 for one cocktails) on Mon/Wed & Fridays. Weekly poolside Ping Pong tournaments with Bismarck, Marvin, Julio, Emilio & Ilse. the only bad thing I can say about Casa Dorado is that their Wi-Fi connection is less than desirable. it is very intermittent and there is a $50USD weekly rate to use it. However when you're on vacation, you really shouldn't be working anyways!

“Great hotel, great location!”
I have just returned from four days in Los Cabos @ Casa Dorada and the experience was excellent. Feb 2-5, 2013. Our room was huge, with a kitchenette that was very helpful for casual refreshments and snacks, an independent bedroom and it was perfectly located (Room 219), we were very close to the swimming pool (10 steps from room to the water).
My 10-year old son could spend time in the water while we could sit outside of our room listening some music. The water temperature was warm, very easy to get it, even for my wife who can´t stand cold water.
We had lunch in the hotel only once, the rest of the days we walked around the hotel, there are many good restaurants at walking-distance, plenty of choices available.
There was a wedding one night and we could hear some of the music inside the room, but it didn´t bother us.
The hotel is conviniently located very close to the Marina in Cabo San Lucas, so any activities related to whale-watching, the arch, etc., are very close.

The only downside I could think of is the proximity of the hotel to the public access to the beach, which brings some people selling their products or offering tours; it did not affect us because is winter and the ocean water is cold and we spend our time by the swimming pool.

“Comfort and convenience”
Late from the annual Thanksgiving holiday. Everyday was sunny, every day in the ocean swimming and paddling on a few. Clearly the pool, and each night out to dinner. The staff is always accomodating and friendly, and so is the spa team.
My Rose loves her oversized bathtub and languises in it before coming to bed
This year there was a rambunctious wedding party on a Saturday night that was loud well into 1:00AM, with some uncivilized and even later inebriation, but it is a wedding and excess does create animals.
We don't eat breakfast at the resort
Other than that blip, sleep was blissful, the weather sublme, the vacation a success

“Wonderful Beachfront Hotel”
The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and the beach was wonderful. It was not crowded and the staff was very accommodating. You could lay out and watch the activities on the water and in the air. The lunch specials were a good deal, but the restaurant was rather pricey. It is an easy walk to the main part of the town and there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.

“Wonderful Stay!”
For being so close to the main town, this hotel is perfect. The view of lands end is awsome. The price was right and the hotel staff was great. We stayed in a junior sweet. Larger than other studios I have stayed in. The beach was okay, but cabos beaches are not known for their beauty. Gotta to to the gulf for that! I would recommend this Hotel.

“Just Incredible.”
Casa Dorada was awesome! My girlfriend and I spent 3nights and three days here we did not have a single complaint. The staff was hospitable and friendly. Make sure you stop by and say hello to Julio. Julio is the hotel's concierge. But he's just not any ordinary concierge, he is passionate in what he does and it shows. He arranged a romantic dinner for my girlfriend and I on the beach. Something highly recommended for all couples. Private table on the beach, fire pit, dedicated server(ask for aquillis), flowers on the table, the sound of the waves...the whole setup cost $35, seriously. Our room was clean clean clean. We upgraded to a one bedroom suite, with two balconies, after sleeping in our king size bed the first night, we brought the mattress out on the balcony and never slept in the room again, it was great, and no bugs! We had room service every morning and it was good. The pool area was awesome, there are cabanas and also a swim up bar.
If you are looking for accommodations centrally located to the beach, restaurants, and the clubs and bars downtown, Casa Dorada is the spot.
Don't forget to stop by the concierge office and say hello to Julio!!!!

“Would return and glad I know a few things about the property now to make next trip better!”
Our welcome drink was tasty and strong. The property is gorgeous with an incredible location. We literally walked to everything including up and down Medano Beach, the port, restaurants, clubs etc.
“Ah Cabo! Great times at Casa Dorada”
Oh Wow, I can't believe I never reviewed this hotel. I'm very late with my review but better late than never, I guess. February 2010 is when I actually visited this resort. The location of Casa Dorada is perfect, it's right on the beach with a gorgeous view of lands end. Walking distance to town and the marina.
“PH-13... No Better Penthouse in Cabo!”
Pictures are worth a 1000 words... not to mention almost 5,000 sq ft, 4 Jacuzzi’s, 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a 150ft long balcony ;-) You feel as if you are on your own private beach watching all your fiends below you are relaxing in your own Jacuzzi!
“Great time as always at Casa Dorada @ Medano Beach”
We just returned from Casa Dorada @ Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. We had a great time as always. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Lili and Ilse went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I want to thank the entire staff for such a wonderful vacation. We look forward to returning next year.
“Perfect home in Cabo!”
Casa Dorada was a perfect place to call home in Cabo San Lucas. The resort was set right on the beach, with easy access to the downtown area and other restaurants and shops. My husband and I stayed for 1 week in January 2013. We were upgraded to an ocean-front, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite, which was more than enough space for just the 2 of us! We had a full kitchen, 3 balconies, a huge jacuzzi and a fantastic view of the Sea of Cortez and the Arch at Lover's Beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; they are eager to please and enthusiastic without being overbearing (which is more than you can say for the people selling items nearby on the beach). For food at the hotel, we particularly recommend the fish tacos (both grilled and fried) and the grilled salmon wrap, which can be ordered at the beach, the pool or the lobby bar. We had a fantastic time in Cabo and would highly recommend this resort.

“Nov 2012 destination wedding”
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights for a destination wedding in November 2012. We reserved a 1 bedroom suite. The 1 BR suite is enormous with a kitchen/dining area, living room, bedroom, bathroom, jacuzzi area, separate powder room area, and 2 balconies. This was a bit much space for just the 2 of us, but we enjoyed it. Our friends had the studio rooms and those are also nice. About 1/2 the space but certainly spacious enough for a couple. The property is great. We really enjoyed the pools, beach access, gym, and poolside restaurant. The location is good if you want to be around the action. Mango bar and the Office are right next door - 2 of the best beachfront restaurant/bars we saw. Also, you can walk to the marina/town area in about 10 minutes or take a short cab. The beach area is really happening too - you can catch jet skis, stand up paddle boarding, taxis to Lands End rocks/Lover's Beach right in front of the hotel. The beach is also super swim-able - very calm and warm. The pool area is very relaxing and the staff very helpful. Our only problem was that not all rooms have a great full view of the bay. The view from our 1st room was quite obstructed but they moved us to a full view for the last 3 nights no problem. We would love to go back. One money tip - If you're on a budget, factor in that hotel taxes are something like 20% on top of your room rate - not a pleasant surprise at end of stay.

A fabulous spot in Cabo right on the Medano Bay!”
Our travel agent found the Casa Dorada for us a little late in the game (we went 2 days after Christmas and stayed thru New Year's) and Cabo was pretty much fully booked. I have only good things to stay about Casa Dorada. It was perfect for my family of six. Above all, the staff, from the front desk to the concierge, to the pool and beach attendants, etc. were the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever encountered. They helped us with activities (ATVs, Wave Runners, Dolphin Swims, etc.) and every night they helped us with restaurant reservations. We did not bother with the "time share" opportunity as we already own a time share and know well what that's all about. But as a resort guest I think anyone looking for a high end place to stay in central Cabo will be very pleased with Casa Dorada. BTW, the rooms were large "time share" style, much like 1 bedroom and studio apartments you'd find in any major city, and also like the typical Westin timeshare, (ie large and well appointed.) Great pool, fabulous private beach, nice SPA, good restaurant for breakfast (we had a package that included daily breakfast buffet. Absolutely NO complaints.
“Great location, ambiance and service.”
In the heart of the town. Great views. Good beach. Near shopping, good local restaurants, cafes , all served with unique Mexican Flavor! The staff was friendly and pending of your needs. A good alternative to hotels that are in remote beaches if you want to savor Mexico.
“Cabo what a great place”
Well we went to the Casa Dorada Los Cabos, Medano beach again with our time share, we love the hotel, location, views from the rooms and the weather. But the luke warm water for a shower is getting hard to deal with, this is not the first time we have had this issue. Also the luke warm jacuzzi in the spa and the cold showers in the spa big turn off for the price we paid for a massage. So hopefully we will have better luck next time.........

“WELL KEPT - GREAT VIEW”
Had the opportunity to meet friends for breakfast at the Casa Dorado and enjoyed a very relaxing beachside shaded area for a very good quality breakfast and never felt rushed. A beautiful view of the entire end of the Peninsula. No cruise ships in that day so an unobstructed view of the entire area and all the smaller pleasure craft.
“Great Trip- Great Location”
We spent 7 days at Casa Dorada. Three couples. The resort is clean, well staffed and very close to the action. The pool area is great, its not the party scene you see at the all inclusives but we had three couples so we didn't need someone in a wrestling mask and bullhorn to get our day going. My wife and I would walk 3 minutes down the street to the marina every morning. You can walk anywhere from Casa Dorada which we loved. We will return to this resort.
“Fun Girls Weekend”

Stayed here for a friend's bachelorette long weekend. We all had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and the food and drinks at the poolside kept us going the entire time : ). Views from the rooms were the best in Cabo.
“A birthday to remember!”
The property is immaculate, it is in a perfect location, the rooms are huge, and the people couldn't be nicer and here's an example of how you are treated at Casa Dorada ...
We dined at 12 Tribes, Casa Dorada's signature restaurant, on her birthday. With the Dining Experience package, we were given the choice of any appetiser, entree, and dessert each ... no restrictions! We also received a bottle of either white or red wine as part of the package, but the staff insisted that we have one bottle of each free of charge ... this came from a service staff that I couldn't count on one hand that took every minute detail ...
But it gets better. Since it was my wife's birthday, the marimba band played the spanish version of The Happy Birthday Song while the hostess and wait staff serenaded her ...
However, there's still more. Sr. Badillo, the manager, then stopped by and presented my wife with a gift certificate good for a 50-minute massage!
We are already planning our next trip to Cabo and will not stay anywhere, but Casa Dorada!

“Great first stay - we'll definitely be back!”
I've been to Cabo a few times before - usually away from the city, so this time we decided to stay somewhere that was an easy walk so we didn't have to rent a car. After much research, I decided on Casa Dorada.
I booked directly with the resort and got what I felt was a great deal for 5 nights for $1330, On their website you can purchase "enhancements" so I included breakfast ($144) and internet ($28.) We also set up a private transfer from the airport to the hotel via VIP Transportation for $90 (each way.) I've been on those shared transfers before and it's taken over an hour to get to my hotel and I didn't want to deal with that again - especially if we were only there for 5 nights! To us, it was worth the extra money. Total for everything for 5 nights, including taxes, was $1900.
Check in was very quick and we were in our room in under 10 minutes.
Our home for the next 6 days was room 526 - a 1 BR Ocean View suite that faced SW and we had a great view of the Arco. There are 3 (or 4?) buildings - ours was a little trek from check in, but we preferred that over having lots of people roaming around.
Huge room (1380 sq feet!) that definitely felt like home (it was bigger than the first townhome I owned!) Ammenities included:
- a lovely kitchen w/everything you need (including dishes)
- a dining room w/large table that seated 8 - 6 chairs and a bench.
- a nice sized living room that seated 6 - love seat/couch (hideabed), 2 chairs / 2 ottomans and a large Flat panel TV.
- a huge bedroom with a king bed, lots of closet space/drawers, though not many hangers in the closet. (I'm sure they'd bring more if requested.) There was also a great chaise lounger (which looks prettier than it is useful) and off the bedroom as a balcony w/ 2 chairs.
There's a large bathroom w/ 2 sinks, shower and toilet. The jacuzzi/soaking tub actually outside of bathroom in the bedroom - and next to that is a vanity/makeup area - which is nice for me to put all of my makeup and junk and not consume all of the space in the bathroom!
The main balcony off living room has 1 lounge chair and a table w/2 chairs. It's very large and we spent quite a bit of time out there.
Pool area is very nice with lots of chairs. We never had a problem getting two chairs, no matter what time you came down. There are 2 pools, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. The hot tubs got busy around 5:00 with the people coming off the beach - often people who had had several cocktails so they were usually loud/bordering on obnoxious, but by that time most of the people at the pool had cleared out.
This is a family-friendly resort, but it was by no means overrun with screaming children (which is always my fear when not staying at an adults-only property.)
There are several cozy sitting areas that have great views of the beach/ocean, some with fire pits, just off the pool / restaurant.
There are several chairs on the beach - do not have to reserve/pay for, but it's 1st come 1st served.
Must have your towel card to "check out" a towel - they will not give you one without the card!! We were told they will charge you if you don't return towel - which we often didn't do until the next day b/c we took them to our room...but we never had a problem.
Had the buffet breakfast at Maydan's every morning and it's pretty good. They have all the regular fare as well as made to order omelets/eggs. Servers were great and remembered what we drank every morning. We also had lunch there one day....ordered a quesadilla, chips & guacamole, and Mexican Cobb salad and it came to $28 US.
Maid service was good - usually came around 2:00. Turndown service came at different times...as early a 5:30 and then after we had left the room at 7:00. Standard stuff - turn the bedding down, towel animals and chocolates.
“What a view!!!! Fantastic!”
We had the pleasure of escaping the winter weather of California and taking my family to this lovely resort for Thanksgiving week. After looking at all our booking options, we ended up booking through an owner on Redweek.com. We were able to book a two bedroom penthouse. WOW! We certainly felt spoiled by the unit we booked. It was on the top floor of the main building, front and center over the pool. We didn't know until a few days in that the entire glass wall was a nano-door...we came home and the sitter had opened it up....AMAZING! We had an enormous outdoor patio area with hot tub, lounge chairs and a table and chairs. The ocean was right in front of us! Past the edge of the Casa Dorada is the Mango Deck...fun place...but we arrived on a Friday and the music (bass) was pumping well past midnight Friday and Saturday nights. No one warned us of this...thank goodness it was only the first two nights of our 7 night vacation. Property was nice and quiet the rest of the evenings.
Our penthouse was lovely. One of the selling points of the PH was that is had a stacked washer/dryer. We have come to really appreciate having a W/D when we travel. Having two kids under age 11, makes for lots of dirty clothes. I was told ONLY PH units have the W/D. We had a two bedroom unit and friends we were traveling with had a one bedroom PH on the same floor. They had an end unit which is always nice.
We shopped at Soriana, a locals grocery store (12 min cab ride) from the hotel. It was fabulous! Their bakery was amazing! Fresh, hot tortillas to be had right from the cooler in the bakery. Their display of bakery products is worth the ride. They had everything you could find in a US grocery store. The store is laid out the same and things are easy to find. They also have a nice hot food counter where you can buy pollo rotisado (rotisserie chicken), rice, beans and fresh salsa....and other items as well. We like to get the pollo rotisado and keep it in the condo for easy chicken soft tacos or to add to scrambles in the morning. They have a nice liquor department with many choices. I happen to be a fan of Don Julio silver...it was my lucky day....they were having a sale, buy two, get one free! The three bottles ended up costing me less than the cost of one bottle at home in CA.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Most nights we walked to dinner. Edith's is right around the corner! It's also a quick 5 min taxi ride to WalMart. Felt like I was back in CA shopping at Wal Mart...more American than locals. WalMart also has an extensive liquor department with reasonable prices. WalMart has everything the US stores carry plus some local items.
Hotel security was appreciated and visible. Each time we walked out the front door, they asked our room number and the same upon our return. It was nice to know someone was paying attention. : ) Also, as an added bonus, the head bellman had lived in CA in a neighborhood right next to mine! He and I had fun comparing notes. He was always happy to answer my questions about where to go for this or that...always with a smile.
Transportation to the hotel: I had done my fair share of research on this ahead of time. I booked a roundtrip ride with Nice Ride Cabo. They were a pleasure to deal with...always by email which worked perfectly for me. You pay for the roundtrip when they deliver you to your hotel. Seems odd, but they always come for you on your departure day. I highly recommend Nice Ride Cabo.
We also used Cabo Babysitters 3 times on our trip. Again, a pleasure to deal with. The gal that owns the business is from the US. She had only 8 sitters working for her at the time. I was shocked that she only had 8. Through our numerous phone calls, I came to learn that she is VERY particular about who she hires. They all CPR trained and have to meet her standards. We had two gal most of the time as there were three families total with a total of 6 children. We had the same girls each time which the kids loved. I'm blanking on their names...but would certainly request them on our next trip. It's a cash only transaction, very professionally handled...you needn't worry.
Favorite restaurant....Cocina Y Cantina at the Hacienda Hotel.
All in all....a great trip!
My advice if you have children: bring your own Children's Tylenol or Motrin and if you can, bring antibiotic ear drops. 4 of the 6 children on our trip ended up getting swimmers ear prior to the end of our stay.
Hotel also had a kids club....it's more of a drop in type of place. There was only one woman on duty each time we were there. Our kids ranged in age from 7 to 10 so they were fine with it.

“50 year old Bday Boyz Trip - EPIC!”
Instead of Vegas; Cabo! Casa Dorada did not disappoint, and 12 50 year old something guys met up for a weekend of Celebration. We walked in the main lobby for check in (see photo) and I was immediately handed a margarita. That set the tone. Good Service and Cleanliness surrounded us. The Best Views in Cabo enveloped us. The rooms (Jr. Suites) are huge and come with a kitchenette. We were in room #221, and it was almost perfect; no loud noise like some reviewers have spoken about, ground level access, and all around comfort. The only complaint: our hot water was lukewarm at best, so make sure it is fixed if you take that room. Oh yeah, the room was close to the underutilized downstairs bar (there were no problems with the location). If you want a clean, classy, friendly place with it's own private beach, than this is your place. The Mango Bar and The Office are located in front of the hotel on the right side if looking at the beach. You don't have to wonder too far for good food and fun.
Room Tip: Room #221: Ground level corner room with excellent pool area access off of the oversized veranda. N...
Casa Dorada Cabo”
Had a great trip to Cabo in December of 12 in a one bedroom at the Casa Dorada, Cabo. The hotel is right in the middle of the action at Medano beach and a 10 minute walk to town and the marina. It sits right behind the Mango Deck where there is non-stop people watching and entertainment. It can get old after a few days, but it's a great option when you can bounce between the action and a quite pool area. Overall the hotel is very nice.
“Best Hotel Rooms in Cabo”
Casa Dorada had me at the front doors, when I walked in and got a thru view past their immense triple-story lobby, past their pool, all the way to the ocean. Wow! But then the real fun began. Wonderful service got us to our hotel room, but I almost fell over when I walked into our room. We had an executive suite, with a full kitchen a dining area for 8, full living room, separate master bedroom, amazing 2-person jetted tub, and beautiful master bathroom. Plus patios overlooking the beach (all rooms face the beach). I highly recommend the spa, and it's also very kid friendly with a kid pool, day care, and nighttime babysitting if you want to go out for a special night. It also has their cordoned off area on the beach. And easy walk to town. We love everything about this place.

“Very nice place”
My husband and I normally stay at the ME next door but decided to try a new place. Casa Dorada is very nice- the rooms are nice and big we has a suite (or junior sweet) with a great view. We were located behind Mangos but didn't seem to be bothered by the noise. The pool area is very nice...
“One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. Perfect vacation!”
Casa Dorada is as close to the beach as you could get!
This was our first non inclusive Mexico vacation. I don't regret it. I don't think it was that much more expensive and the food was amazing!
The breathtaking view as you enter the hotel set the tone for the entire vacation. We have been to many places in Mexico but this has to be my favorite spots. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The service was perfect. The pools are quiet enough that having a balcony that overlooked the pool was a delight. The hotel is also just a few doors down from some of the best restaurants in Cabo. They are also right on the beach dining. They just can't be beat. So ladies, if you wanted to wear heals, go for it! It is a very short walk :o) There is a nice mall about 7-10 minutes away that had some nice shops. We did hit downtown Cabo to go to Cabo Wabo. It was a short taxi ride.
Favorite things about this hotel:
Views and location
Excellent Service
Spa (with massage therapist Abbey) was relaxing and PERFECT! They had daily spa specials.
Breakfast overlooking the ocean.
Awesome breakfast buffet that you can take it back to your room too.
Nice sports bar with pool table
Workout area next to spa with spa drinks
Great food out by the pool with daily drink and appetizer specials
The Room! HUGE! 2 entrances to the bathroom and bedroom. Nice Kitchen and dining area.
2 balconies both overlooking the pool and ocean.
Huge Tub. That was so clean I could actually use!
Very upscale night time dining overlooking the ocean
I can't think of anything else except, we are going back as soon as we can. We might even take the kids next time! This was one of my favorite places!!!!!

“Great Vacation”
We loved Casa Dorada. From the moment you get out of the cab you have a breath taking view. So beautiful! This hotel probably has the best view in Cabo. The hotel right on the beach and walking distance to many of the beach clubs. The pool is also very nice and clean. The room was large, comfortable, and had that same great view. The service was also top notch. We had the included breakfast which was very good. Next time we are in Cabo we will definitely return to Casa Dorada.

“Location location location”
Reviewed December 2, 2012 NEW
We were a bit worried about going to Cabo, in that most resorts we have been to in Mexico feel like a trap with bad food and no place to go outside the hotel. This one was not like that. A great location near the marina and a great beach, what really makes this hotel are the people who work there. From Lili in the front desk, to Oswaldo the manager, to May the Conceirge, they are all like family. Doing their bets to help you have a good time. Things didn't go perfect, but they did their best to fix everything. Rooms are nice, all with great views and a kitchen. Hotel pool very nice for kids and adults with food that is actually good. Marina and nice restaurants (Bar Equina and Edith's) within a stone's throw. As long as you have a high room not to hear too much of the noise of the Mango deck, you will enjoy. We did! Our two kids loved it. We will be back.

“Best location in Cabo if you like action.”
Rooms are huge, clean, all with great views. The staff was awesome, fast service to any request, polite and all speak perfect English. This location is right on Mendo Beach so if you want isolation, not your place. 5.00 water taxi to the marina or 10 min walk. Great restaurants within 10 min walking.
Just had to tell the timeshare people No and they left me alone. Its worth getting that No out of the way immediately or they will keep asking.
Internet 12.00 day or the marina has public wifi for free. The hotel is immaculate, the pool is perfect and rooms are huge with cable.

“Probably The Nicest Hotel In Cabo”
I've been to Cabo 3 times, and stayed at different hotels each time. Casa Dorada is definitely the nicest of the hotels I have stayed at in Cabo. It's very modern and beautiful. The rooms are clean, large, and very nice. The hotel itself is in the best location of Cabo -- you go out of the hotel, right onto the sand, and you're in the heart of everything -- all the bars and all of the water activities.
It is definitely pricey for Cabo, but if your budget allows for it, I would highly recommend . . .

“Casa Dorado at Medano Beach - two thumbs up!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012 NEW
We just got back from a week at Casa Dorado and we were extremely happy with our stay. The resort is well kept up and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The Bell Captain, (I think that is his title) Tomas Rodreguiz does an outstanding job managing this very busy hotel entrance - he and his staff were so accomodating and brought our car around within minutes of the request. Front desk, housekeeping, 12 Tribes, and beach and pool staff also incredibly nice and excellent service. Yes, you may pay for some extras but it is well worth it - There is enough staff at this place to man a small army - therefore no customer need goes un -noticed.

“Great location if looking for an active beach, short walk to marina”
Reviewed November 25, 2012 NEW
We just returned from a 5 night stay during Thanksgiving week. The resort is on Medano beach part of which is behind the Mango Deck beach bar. The location is great if interested in a combination of beach (with a lot of action) and marina/downtown activities. If looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, going further down Medano beach would be a better choice. The water was great and it was a short walk to the marina where there are a lot of restaurants and other activities (5-7 minute casual walk from the street in front of the lobby). We usually prefer to relax on the beach so we started by hanging at the beach when we arrived but quickly decided to switch to the pool for several reasons:
1) The beach setting was very noisy and busy with vendors and nearby beach bars.
2) The beach chairs were not as comfortable as the padded pool chairs.
3) The beach area slopes to the water making the chairs even more uncomfortable.
4) With all the boat activities along Medano beach, the fumes was pretty obvious and became annoying quickly.
The room we were in had a great ocean view and most rooms (especially upper rooms) should also have a great view. The weekend prior to Thanksgiving had 2 weddings (Sat and Sun) at 12 Tribes restaurant. The noise from the weddings was very loud and very obvious even with the balcony doors closed in our room. The music played until 11 or 12 midnight and the partying continued until 3am. I talked to the concierge the next day and she said the party should have moved to the Maydan after 11pm, but a lot of people continued to hang around 12 Tribes and the pool area. The other nights were fine and I was worried about noise from the Mango Deck at night, but that wasn't a big issue. Suprisingly the on property noise was much worse.
Overall, I would rate this resort 3 star+ to 4 star. My personal preferences lean more to a quieter more relaxing atmosphere as opposed to a party atmosphere.
Room Tip: We stayed in room 618 which is a one-bedroom suite which also has a lockout to an adjoining bedroom...
"Centrally located for beach lovers”
This hotel is centrally located if you are like us and enjoy the beach and a fun, happening atmosphere. The hotel has it's own private beach area that is separated from the rest of the public. The chairs and cabanas are clean and the very well kept. The beach service was also excellent. It's right next to the activity vendors as well (glass bottom taxis to El Arco, jet skis, banana rides etc). Tip - feel free to haggle. I negotiated 2 hours on the jetski for the price of one.
You should be aware that the hotel is right in front of Mango Deck which is probably the loudest, most happening beach club at Cabo. This means that there will be music all day and long into the night so if you aren't into that type of scene, you may want to move further north up the beach.
It's about a 8 min walk to the center of town.
The hotel staff is all around friendly and the suites were amazing, clean with spectacular views. Overall a great time and I recommend this hotel for couples + friends looking to enjoy the beach.
“Excellent Group Destination”
Every year I take a large group down to Cabo and this year we stayed at the Casa Dorada. My group was really pleased with the family feel of the hotel. They also enjoyed how each room had a kitchen and we were able to bring in our own food to keep cost down. The hotel has a beautiful pool area and beach area but its a bit confusing figuring out how to get to the beach. I suggest having the hotel staff take you on a tour of the hotel ground so that you are able to take advantage of everything it has to offer. Jazmin Cesena was my group coordinator and she was wonderful. She truly helped me keep my group happy.
On our last day there, a big storm came in and we were unable to enjoy the sun. The hotel set up a big screen and played movies in the down stairs bar/restaurant area. There was also a pool table and ping pong table available to play. This was a great option that kept their guest happy.

“Beautiful hotel....too bad spring break is right in front....”
We stayed at Casa Dorado as we won the trip at a benefit. We had a beautiful one bedroom suite on the 6th floor. Sitting on the deck for coffee every morning was a treat. The hotel is beautiful and the poor area is lovely. You can walk easily in to town for lots of shopping and eating! The big draw back to this place is Mango Deck World sits right on the beach in front of the pool. The drinking games and the guy on the mic is pretty annoying and very distracting. The music gets pretty loud at times. It starts up around noon and goes until late. They do seem to take Sunday off!!! Next time we will be sure not to have a beach club right in front of our hotel!

“Great location and solid property”
When you arrive at the Casa Dorada, the building is somewhat plane; a stuccoed building with not much of an exterior. It is a time share property and the staff gently pushes the guests to explore buying timeshares. Check in is typically late, after 4:00 but the staff allows you to use the property spa and pool while your room is prepared. The rooms have a generous amount of space and our kept spotless by the hardworking employees. All rooms have views of the ocean and pool. The pool is kept clean and has a fun bar at one end of the pool. You are protected by a manned gate you must walk through to get to the beach. The beach is pretty. the one complaint is the unending string of vendors trying to sell you something and the loud noise of the Mango bar that partially obstructs the view of th beach from the rooms. All in all, the CD is a solid property. Have fun!

"Casa Dorada on Medano Beach”
I recently stayed at the Casa Dorada on Medano Beach. We exchanged our timeshare in Florida for a 2 bedroom at this resort. The room was very nice and spacious. Our room was on the second floor and faced the ocean. The view was spectacular. The food on the resort was just so so but we only ate there once or twice so it really did not make a difference in our stay. The resort is walking distance to town. If there was a ddown side it would be that this is a timeshare and you will be hit up to do the tour. But if you say no there is no hard sale so it is really no big deal. I would definately stay at the Casa Dorada again.
“General Mgr Laura was GREAT!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012 NEW
We happened to be traveling with our very well behaved labrador Sammy and Laura (the general mgr) was absolutely incredible.
She not only made sure that our two toddlers were taken care of but that our dog (who is part of our family) was comfortable.
She was awesome. All staff was fantastic.
Please keep in mind when travelling in Mexico that Labor Law allows for 48 hour / 6 day per week work weeks and that all staff work those hours. Please be sure to tip and make their lives as prosperous as possible.
“No place else”
Casa Dorada is the only place to stay in Cabo! This was our 3rd year in a row visiting this resort. The accomodations are fantastic! The views are amazing and the location could not be better as you have a swimable beach and can walk to town. The service is always impeccable and very friendly. We will definitely be back again!
Room Tip: Ask to be on the 3rd floor or above for the best views.
“Casa Dorada”
Upon arrival was upgraded to two bedroom suite. Beautiful views! People were friendly and helpful. All staff was attentive. The only problem I had was the time share people. I knew that they would be approaching me here from other tripadvisor reviews. However, the pressure that they try to place on you to purchase a time share is crazy. I tried to explain to them that I would think over the information they presented, but they just switched me to another person until i finally said ENOUGH! I told them I was done with the presentation, I had said no twice and if I had to say no again i was going to become very angry. At this point the presentation concluded and I went on to thoroughly enjoy my time here. The room service was fast and the food was great. I had the salmon wrap and it was excellant. I recommend you bring coffee with you as this can be quite costly..$11.00 for a pot. The pools were well taken care of. I did not eat at the 12 tribes rest. but this was do to time as there was so many excellant places to eat. Th ehighlight food wise was the place directly across the street. I had the tuna tartar..by far the best i have ever had. The B lounge service was vey slow but drinks were good. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great vacation. The water was perfect, lots of activities, and food was incredible.
Room Tip: bring your own coffee, try to green juice in the rest. on the water you will love it!
“Beautiful"
We stayed here for a wedding this last weekend (October 27th, 2012). We got the junior suite, as we were only staying two nights. After a 2 hour drive from the airport due to traffic, I was in a horrible mood. But, as we were checking in they offered us drinks and I immediately started to feel better. Then, we get to our room. The junior suite is very similar to a "normal" hotel room, but it did have a kitchenette. It was not big. BUT, I opened the door and we had an unobstructed view of the ocean and beaches - nothing can beat that :)
The staff were friendly and not pushy towards us. The beach had it's own reserved area and the pools were both great.
It was a quick trip, but I'd really like to go back.
“Excellent Service - Especially by Reyna and Eney”
Atmosphere: Our first impression of Casa Dorada was breathtakingly beautiful. As the driver dropped us off, without even walking into the building, we were caught by the stunning view of the ocean and arch. The layout is gorgeous. We were greeted promptly with a very strong welcome margarita (pineapple) ..delicious.
Service: Service was outstanding. We were accidentally booked in a room with two double beds. But, Reyna, the manager went out of her way to make it up to us. She upgraded us the next day to a one bedroom suite with jacuzzi on the 5th floor. She was very helpful and friendly. It was evident that she loves what she does and she is great at it. We experienced a little bit of resistant attitude from Lili, but Eney quickly jumped in and rectified the situation. Eney was also very helpful in getting us into our new room. She called down to the bell hops and had our bags brought up right away so we didn't have to wait til 3pm for checkout time to get into our new room.
Food: Food at the breakfast buffet was excellent and very varied. We had visited several other hotels each day to try their buffets and Casa Dorada was by far, the best. (except for the sunday brunch buffet a the Melia) ...Lunch was ok...nothing to rave about and service by the pool for lunch is very slow. But, I spoke to the manager about this and the problem was quickly rectified. I think our server was a bit overwhelmed with tables.
Spa: was under renovation at the time. The fitness centre seems it will be very impressive in size and variety. The spa services were excellent. I had Freddy and Gerry...both excellent at massage. Atmosphere in the spa was very relaxing with an herbed, iced drink and tea available as well as sauna and steam room. very clean and quiet. There was a hot and cold bath as well.
Beds: I am picky about beds...they were VERY comfortable. I just wish there was a pillow menu. I missed my contour pillow.
Overall: I would definitely stay here again.

“Perfect 40th Birthday Getaway”
Reviewed October 23, 2012 NEW
5 of my friends and I went to Cabo July 11-15th, 2012 to celebrate my 40th birthday. I must say that was the best vacation I have ever had. Casa Dorada and the staff were the icing on the cake. When we 1st arrived the van pulled up and I thought I was in heaven. We were greeted with the most amazing view looking out onto the ocean. Tomas at the front entrance was fabulous. He gave great suggestions for local activities, transportation and greeted us all with a handsome smile everyday.
When we checked in we were initially given a handicap 2 bedroom suite on the 2nd floor poolside. It was a nice room, but did not give me the view I requested on my reservation, plus the water did not get hot in the master shower. I immediately went to the front desk and requested a room change. The front desk was not able to change our room until the next day because they said they were at capacity. The next day we were able to change rooms to the 6th floor above the lobby area. Our room was perfect. I could not have dreamed of a better suite. The view was perfect, the room was clean everything as I saw on their website when I booked the room. The convience of the large kitchen allowed us to save money on food. We went grocery shopping at Walmart and cooked in our room for breakfast and Dinner a few nights.
The next day was my 40th birthday several guest greeted me Happy Birthday throughout the day. We spent part of the day on a great Booze cruise and walked along the marina. During our trip we also went zip-lining and parasalling. Despite other people's comments not once were we bombarded by time share sales people.
The resort is located at the best location in Cabo. I compared the location with others and I am so glad we stayed at Casa Dorada. Location was absolutely perfect. We were in walking distance to everything. The best place I went to almost everyday was the Mango Bar which is litteraly on the beach on the back side of the hotel. The food at Sharky's on the corner was excellent and the people were friendly.
I think we are going to make Cabo and Casa Dorada our annual trip. We had a blast.
